Spirit There are quite a few songs that are discussed that I have never heard, sadly...
"Spirit" is a Prince song, I have not heard anyone mention...A song that I believe is one of Prince's most inspirational...and as a fan, I would adore it's release.... a portion of the lyrics are as follows: In the sands of time I'm running out (I'm not certain of this next line) When all seems lost you've got to try Never let your spirit die. I love this song....and I wonder why it never landed on a cd easy to get ahold of. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

My copy of The Work is miles away but I thought there was a Prince sung version on that. I may be wrong though.

It's not all that good. To me anyways. Love Thy Will Be Done is far more better. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

I have Prince's..."Yellow" that contains his originals, yet they are really rough recordings....yet I adore them, even rough....
I don't know what it takes for Prince to re-do those...as well as "Open Book" That's probably a weekend session for him. And a new Album for us. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

There are times Prince just pushes his already completed track onto artists and times when an artist come over to Paisley Park and bare their souls, like Martika and Sandra StVictor did. They came to Prince with compositions and/or lyrics and Prince then worked on those. All Martika songs were shaped around already excisiting material (I think lyrics) that Prince worked on.
