Here's one I draw actually pretty early into my trip through Prince's material. When I was writing about him, I wanted to make a visual for myself, but also see what comes out by experimenting.

Mine is somewhat cheated, I held the prince pic and a sheet of paper against a lamp and drew the main lines, so I always had the right proportions

I didn't drew much. Some obligatory things for school but mainly Prince and I think only between '88-'92. My most "recent" pic was January '94, my husbands mum had her birthday and I drew him as a baby for her. That was the last time I drew anything. I don't even know if I could draw now. If I didn't like Prince I would have never drawn.

I remember I had a girlfriend at highschool and she was mad about Axl Rose from Guns and Roses and she begged me to draw him. She gave me her favorite pic of him and I swear, I almost threw up. I had to draw his nostrals and all those red hair inside could be seen and I just couldn't draw it for her She was pretty pissed.

Drawing Prince was so intimate for me, like having forplay. I couldn't do it with anyone else.

Wow... some of these are really good, even if they were drawn with the help of a visual. When I try drawing with a visual in front of me, I just screw the whole thing up. While I kinda consider that cheating, I could care less about that because that's a talent I don't have. I drew mine completely from the top of my head, the way I perceived Prince as he was now. And of course, all of my sketches these days are animé-oriented, but that's all I know.

Yes I draw out of hand, and it is hard getting proportions right... I always mess up on the lips/chin area as well. But, even with flawed proportion, I love the way you capture him.

I love this man's face.... and I love how you capture it.... esp. the eyes & lips. You have a great hand. I haven't drawn in years, but since I started drawing again, (mostly plants and stuff) his face or a lover's face from a photo is all I can draw as well.

Funny you should also only like to draw Prince's face, I can totally relate!
