Unreal, this award is for impact, Prince turned the U.K. purple last year and people flew in from around the world to see him. He set a a new bench mark for live performance and marketing so to be pushed aside for the likes of Michael Bubble' really smacks of the industry being too far up its own ass.

IT'S NOT FAIR!

He didn't release anything in the last year, he gave it away for free, so he's not eligible.

The Brits are pointless anyway.

It's just an excuse for the record labels to push their biggest names even further into the limelight.

They're still mad at him for giving away 'Planet Earth' aren't they?

I mean - I like Bruce Sprinsteen but WTF - how can he be nominated and Prince not? What are the parameters?

Really do not think the material is subpar either - I think cause we are so used to the brilliance of Prince that anything that is not 200% genius people class as subpar - compare the album to others that have been released in 2007 and it more than holds its own.

Award shows in general are pretty crappy these days, especially the Brits - a huge case of the emperor having no clothes on, if there every was one - but after the mainstream media attention Prince got in the UK this summer from the Planet Earth giveaway and the stint of O2 gigs, he should've definately been nominated.
