What Basketball Team does Prince support?

Is it a Minnesota based team?

He liked the Bulls w/ MJ, but that was a long time ago...when they won.

Maybe he gives his homeboys, the Wolves, some love?

Yes.

The Timberwolves.

Just listen 2 "F.U.N.K."... "I'm out, like the Wolves in the 1st (quarter)... Oh, but we gonna get it together..."

Yeah, I'm sure he holds a soft spot for the Wolves. But I suspect he's rather like my man in that he will watch any game, any time - no matter who's playing.

<--- never gets the remote disbelief

Damn. I thought he was making some kind of biblical reference or something.
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

It's funny you mention that, because that particular line is one of the main reasons I think this song may have dated back to 2003 or 2004. Reason being is that up until that year, the T'Wolves were often ridiculed for being eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs evey year...to the tune of 7 straight up until the 2004-2005 season (in which they actually advanced past the first round and into the Western Conference Finals...but eventually lost to my L.A. Lakers).

So, when he says that line in the song, I instantly connected it to mean he'd be "out like the 'Wolves in the 1st"...round of the playoffs that is!!

Thoughts?

When he was married to Mani and had a home in Toronto he was at many games and often said he was a big fan of the team. I'm sure the Timberwolves are his fav though seeing as that's his home state.

During the Musicology tour in LA when the Wolves were on the verge of knocking the Lakers out of the playoffs before losing to them, Prince said someting to the effect to the LA crowd about being sorry that his boys, the Timberwolves, were whoopin' up on the Lakers. The only time I've ever heard Prince semi-bood at a concert (Wasn't at the infamous Rolling Stones gig). Of course, being from MN I was cheering.

I agree. He gave us crap bout not being loud enough at the Staple shows saying I saw how loud u were being when u were beating my wolves. He was like Go Wolves and the crows bood...a few minutes later he brought out a mini-basketball think and then dribbled n said Go Lakers, relunctuntly.

When the Pistons spanked r ass and he wore a Tashawn Prince jersey, i was hurt. I was like damn u fool, now that hurts. lol
