There was "one" cool line in Dirty Diana. "She said he's not coming home because he's sleeping with me"

Darling Nikki was an entire song of cool lines.

Diana wasn't as Dirty as Nikki anyway, shiiiiit.....Nikki was tickling her clit in a open hotel lobby warming that shit up for .....well....me. What the fuck was Diana doing?

Give me my Darling Nikki any day. cool

Sorry, either very off topic or hit a nerve.

Well I've just listened again to Nikki and I have to ask how it's possible to make someone screaming sound so beautiful. Shouting usually comes with passion but it feels so heartfelt. We have that wonderful grinding guitar, those oh so simple lyrics and Prince screaming at her. I think the huge difference is that Prince knows how it is to love and lose someone: someone that is a lover. He knows the way it tears one's stomach apart to see them with another. It's the jealousy of the song and the possessiveness that comes through so strongly. It's raw emotion.

And that's why Jackson (the kiddie fiddler wink ) fails every single time.

Didn't like the way he treated women. Coming from a paedophile that's rich. Okay not convicted of it but what kind of effin idiot lets young boys sleep in their bed? In fact what kind of person wants a young boy to sleep in his bed at all (apart from the kind of person that's hoping to get a young boys pants off)? Very odd. Sure wouldn't let my nipper stay with another adult by themself. Unless it was my Mum of course.

Jackson is an oddity altogether if you ask me. Which you're not but I'm telling you anyway. Musical comparison? Million miles apart.

before you judge him try hard to love him look within your heart and ask have you seen his childhood wink

I like Dirty Diana and Darlin Nikki equally, their both great songs!

I'm not saying I haven't liked some of his music. Hell I'm 36 and owned Thriller as a kid. I don't however think he is in the same league as Prince. It's all too smooth and produced, cream and candy. Jackson vs White Stripes. Hard to think they're using the same twelve notes.

As for loving a person? I've got to know them surely? Or at least have met them on equal terms. Love is a strong word.

I do understand that there are people fanatical about Jackson as many of us are here about Prince. That's ok. We had a guy at work who walked in and said everyone would remember where they were when Jackson was let off. I think everybody was mildly bemused and looked at him oddly. Anyway let me not start a rant about a man that I've never met and on whom I am basing all my opinions from having read tabloids. Bit late I know but oh well.

Perhaps it all stems from my inner-snobbery that prevents me from appreciating singers that can't play an instrument. People are born with a voice. Musicians study.

PS: Eric Roberson not included in the last paragraph wink God sings and uses his voice.

MJ plays many intruments, the only reason why you dont see him playing them that much is because he is dancing.

Read some time ago where MJ really dug Darling Nikki...he called the song a guilty pleasure. He also saw Purple Rain, but walked out of the theatre 15mins before the end ...he said it was O.K ,but he didnt like the way Prince treated women...

When he did the song " Dirty Diana "he was aiming to create his version of "Nikki" but just couldnt bring himself to be as "raw" as the little fella.

I think Diana is cool, but Darling nikki will always be a guilty pleasure!!!

So which song is "BADDER" in your opinion?

Of course Darling Nikki is the most hardcore! evillol

To me there is no contest.

Darlin Nikki is a metaphor that explores guilt, frustration, and sexual abandon with no holds barred lyrically, musically, or in the tone of the song--Prince screams his brains out without so much as a care that it sound 'pretty'. Indeed the mix of the song is too bright, too rough, and too raw for it to be a safe 'likeable' song, but that's the genius of it--Prince gets away with it.

Dirty Diana is a contrived, methodical, albeit slickly executed pop song trying to evoke the lurid feel of Darlin Nikki, but it drowns in it's own dialogue, silly lyrics, and is about as believable as Jermaine Stewart mashin' on this poor girl here.... (bless jermain's heart pray )

Ergo, one is an shameless proclamation of guilt and intention, while the other is just a nice sounding pop song. lol

I like both songs equally.
I feel that Darling Nikki is just pure dirt, while Dirty Diana (because of the way Mike sings it) has a more regretful tone to it.
But that's just me.

I wanted to respond "is Jermaine dead?"
I just read on Wiki that he died in 1997 boxed I'm a little bit behind lol I knew Diana and Mother Theresa did that year but Jermaine?
