Dirty Diana vs Darling Nikki ??? Read some time ago where MJ really dug Darling Nikki...he called the song a guilty pleasure. He also saw Purple Rain, but walked out of the theatre 15mins before the end ...he said it was O.K ,but he didnt like the way Prince treated women...
When he did the song " Dirty Diana "he was aiming to create his version of "Nikki" but just couldnt bring himself to be as "raw" as the little fella. I think Diana is cool, but Darling nikki will always be a guilty pleasure!!! So which song is "BADDER" in your opinion?

I like both, but Darling Nikki is more raw and nasty and all that good stuff. It sounds like an unpolished jam.
Though Dirty Diana is the shit, it isn't on Darling Nikki's level. MJ wasn't that raw/nasty on his track. Plus, the lyrical content...P wins there. You know I always mix up the titles? I say darling diana alot. Wierd. [Edited 1/16/08 22:45pm]

I like the atmosphere Dirty Diana creates with the crowd cheering and the echoing vocals that make you feel like you're at a concert. MJ's vocals are very good too.
But Darling Nikki wins, the lyrics are better and it's got that legendary SCREEEAAAAAM in it

lyrically..prince will always be more extreme...but i think dirty diana is the better song, iv never been a huge darling nikki fan (though do love the performance in PR movie); think dirty dianna is more atmospheric, a great piece of work.
in fact, id class bad as michael jacksons purple rain, both to me are in leagues of their own, without a single dissapointing track on them. Wouldn't you love to love me?

Argh!!! Dirty Diana is one of my fave Jackson songs, but I do have a bit more of an affinity with Darling Nikki.
And the fact that you can understand what Prince is saying in Darling Nikki. But Dirty Diana does have that gritty raw edge that hardly any of MJ's other songs have. A good choice of song!!! Life's a Parade! LoveLife, LoveSexy!

In a martial arts type of contest, Darling Nikki.
If it was just a plain out'n'out fisticuffs fight, then I'd say Dirty Diana.

It's funny cause I was thinking about Dirty Diana a couple of days ago while I was ironing some clothes. I like them both but my vote goes to Darling Nikki. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

So which song is "BADDER" in your opinion? okay, he would'a preferred the song to be called Darlin' Dickie and he would'a preferred that treatment to be smothered upon 'lil Tevin Campbell in graffiti bridge : "you like that jesus juice, you dirty 'lil tease! Bend over and take it like a boy-scout, Tev-meister! - Sha-mon!"

I like Diana more it leaves a littl to the imagination, Darling Nikki is great and raw. MJ just cannot be a raw as P. There will never come a day that he can be P. NOW could you imagine. That would be a sight to see.

Didn't like the way he treated women. Coming from a paedophile that's rich. Okay not convicted of it but what kind of effin idiot lets young boys sleep in their bed? In fact what kind of person wants a young boy to sleep in his bed at all (apart from the kind of person that's hoping to get a young boys pants off)? Very odd. Sure wouldn't let my nipper stay with another adult by themself. Unless it was my Mum of course.
Jackson is an oddity altogether if you ask me. Which you're not but I'm telling you anyway. Musical comparison? Million miles apart.

i think dirty dianna feels like it is sung with more passion (though in fairness hardly anyone comes close to prince for singing with furious intensity)
having said that..has anyone listened to 'give into me' by MJ...unbeliveable...absolutely intense as hell....so passionate, can feel every word he sings; complete with a slash guitar solo (think its slash anyway) Wouldn't you love to love me?

Dammit, now I have to dig out Purple Rain... We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

C'mon people, he talked about MASTURBATION in a song in the '80s. It doesn't get much COOLER than that!!! Nikki beat Diana down in an alley and left her for dead... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

Even though Dirty Diana is my fave song off Bad...its really no contest. Darling Nikki rocks it HARD. Its nasty, cold, hard funk/rock.
Darling Nikki wins this one hands down.
