Don't really understand your question but I don't think it's that "nasty" a song.
He prob still plays it for the perfect chance to let loose on the guitar

Bambi is one of his best songs.
It's definately one of my favourites, and, if you have seen Prince play this live you would know that its one of his favourites too! Pure Brilliance. Life's a Parade! LoveLife, LoveSexy!

When we thought that Prince may have been reading our posts on PRINCE.ORG, I actually requested he played Bambi - it reminds me of the Great concert at Wembley when he was playing it for the sound check and you could hear it for miles - it is still one of my favourites and I listen to it at home often.
*** Hi there Metalist hope all is well with you - hope to catch up with you in the near future when I see Ange and Ellie

Because it's da bomb. If you've ever been 3 feet away from him while he's playing it at an aftershow like I have it would be your favorite song And if you'll notice he changes the words on some of his older songs to make them 'clean'. He did DMSR and changed it up from work your body like a whore to work your body some more... stuff like that. But it's not the lyrics that make bambi rock... the music just rocks.

"Bambi" is the first guitar-rock song Prince/WBR released. It showcases Prince's ability to rock a guitar (think circa 1979), like Clapton, Richards, amd Perry.
Because the song is considered rock, it's easy for Prince to segue from"Bambi" to "Whole Lotta Love" to "The Ride." It's not a nasty song, it's about a boy infatuated with a girl that only likes girls and he's trying to convince her in his private conversations with himself that he would find physical love better with a man. Just because a song makes one thinks about sex does not translate to nasty. There is nothing nasty about sex, it's a very spiritual thing. "Bambi" is my favorite Prince guitar song. IMHO, think Prince plays this song in concert to change the mood of the audience, which puts him in a feel good mood.

this song has always rocked and when he does the intro the crowd goes crazy..it's gotten better when it seques in2 whole lotta love
but i'm also not crazy about "bambi" on the side of the roads ...can't they build up walls so they don't come on2 a highway already? damn! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
