Well, it's a little too early in the game for me to choose. Given that I've listened to Purple Rain some 100 times in the past year... and SOTT only 6-7 times this past month... I can't really say one over the other right now, although SOTT does have a lot more variety (and twice as many songs Right now, I'd have to say SOTT just cuz its still roughly new to me. And the Camille songs on SOTT are a juicy bonus... nothing else like 'em. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

The Beautiful Ones and When Doves Cry are my 2 favorites on PR... but I've got a zillion favorties on SOTT... Dorothy Parker, Starfish & Coffee, 4ever in my life, If was ur g/f (LOVE that one) and I could never take the place of ur man are my current favorites off that album.had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. I'm all late to this party Purple Rain is my choice but the artistry and brilliance in SOTT cannot be denied. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Something else: I love the drums on the 'Purple Rain' album. Most of the songs have an amazing beat that just jumps out at you! Listen to "Let's Go Crazy" and "Computer Blue",you'll see what I mean. I love SOTT,but I think 'Purple Rain' is a much more vibrant album.
