Lord your not even addressing the fact that the Stones sucked and Prince is not U2. Lot's artist with exception of U2 perform their old hits at a event like the Superbowl.

You will see Tom Petty do the same thing this year.

i liked the stones set better than prince's and ur right u2 is not prince..u2's kicked prince's ass all over the map on that one..

as 4 tom petty i'm not really interested in

-----
Well that is your opinion. I am glad you enjoyed the performance but, no one else did.

He did a set list that would appeal to the masses. WTF is this so hard to understand. People are not going to pay big bucks to hear a bunch of obsucre songs that only the hard core fams know.

If you don't know that P has done more CD than PR than you don't know much about his style of music.

because in their eyes "purple reign" is the only album he's ever done rolleyes and judging from this time last year in miami, he was proving it by that lame set list done at the superbowl

Actually, they paid big enough bucks to see him perform ABSOLUTELY OBSCURE SHIT FROM THE RAINBOW CHILDREN during the One Night Alone tour.

i was watching the per4mance that they did while on their infamous logo..gee where did prince get the idea 4 that? hmmm

You do not have anything else to do but, notice the most simple and unimportant things. I don't know P has been using his logo for a long time and so have lots of other bands. Maybe they all bothered from the Rolling Stone. Who the hell cares and what does that have to do with the awful performance the RS put on. They were panned by everyone and Prince was praised.

You got to give credit when credit is due.

"Everyone else" would really have to include more than just you, & other pathetic disciples of craptastic music to be a valid point.

Not to nitpick, because it's such a hopeless enterprise with certain types of people, but you also might want to spend some more time focusing on punctuation & grammar in your posts.

i give props 4 the alma per4mance ..that was hot ..the superbowl was lame ..not everyone has the purple glasses on 2 c that it was a oldies act reliving and STILL reliving the 80's where as the alma per4mance was a CURRENT artist promoting his then LATEST work ..i guess u like 2 live in a time warp
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I'm very much into Prince's current music, but he put on a hell of a show at the super bowl. He came with it. I too prefer to see him perform his newer material, but I agree performing the more familiar material paid off

symbol stage ...hmmmm sounds post 1980's 2 me ..thus the music should have reflected it ...nothing wrong with hearing 7,(top 10 hit) and some other hits ..hell even TMGITW was a familiar hit. the fact of playing nothing but songs from 23 years ago at the time was just sad.
