best tracks on their imo r it's about that walk, when the lights go down ..seek out the original version of old friends 4 sale instead of the one on the vault
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

There are several very strong cuts, but as a collection of tracks, it's rather lacklustre IMO.

It's pretty good.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

It's a great jazz-funk albums, not unlike Donald Fagen's albums.

People generally don't give it a chance because it was a Warner Bros release, but frankly it's generally better than any album he did as 0{+> .
It's at least better than anything else he did from Emancipation to Rainbow Children...

I've tried so many times to like it but have pretty much given up at this point. There are some excellent songs, but overall it's by far my least favorite album of his.

And so is Prince.

Anxiety

as far as art/package/concept design, it's poopies.

if you let go of that and just dig into it for the music (and remember that it's an odds'n'ends collection), then it's pretty darn good.

inconsistent and kinda all over the map at times - but generally speaking, good. and there IS a prevailing jazz fusion sound on this collection. i like it. it's kinda like crystal ball's afterbirth or something.

It definitely has some good stuff on it, but as mentioned before it is an odds and ends collection and not an album as such.

Nothing really sits together and so I find it's not an album that commands attention from beginning to end.

But it certainly aint no poops!!!!!

Every once in a while, when I'm cleaning out my studio,
I will pull this album out with the intention of throwing it in the "Get rid of" pile, since it doesn't get much rotation on my stereo system.
But, then I'll listen to it, & for some reason, can't find it within myself to do get rid of it.
Just when I thought that it was going to free up space in my CD rack,
it finds it's way back in.
So, if it poopies,
I'd have to say that it's like that little nugget that just, when you think you've given the toilet a good flush,
keeps mischieviously popping out from behind the drain opening & bobbing up to the top rim of the water.
Mocking me.
