Kamasutra and N.E.W.S.

Hey, a Q for U about these instrumentals:

A lot of people here hate Kamasutra.

A lot of people here also hate N.E.W.S.

I love N.E.W.S.

would I love Kamasutra?

Just wonderin'. smile

i don't mind kamasutra and i certainly don't mind either news or xpectation..make ur own interpertations and xperience it 4 urself instead of opinions on this site or others. cool
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

its hard to say, as they are entirely different...kamasutra is more of a stab at classical music. i like what prince does in n.e.w.s but i dont find anything in kamasutra to be impressed with; its pretty poor (though, being prince , it still has its moments of goodnes - cant remember precise song names tho)

its worth a listen, but not very good really, and not worth any deal of money. good to have to add to the collection though of course.
Wouldn't you love to love me?

Both have absolutely nothing in common besides being intrumental albums so i can't say. I think N.E.W.S. is much better but i really like Kama Sutra too. It's kind of neo-classical contemporary music with lotsa synths and some Clare Fischer Orchestra.

Back when it was released, i was having a bong (water pipe) period and i used 2 love having my morning bong while listening 2 the title track. Believe me that shit was good and pretty intense! Try it if u ever get Kama Sutra, some grass and a water pipe on the same day.

Well, that's a question only you can answer when you hear it.
Did you like Xpectation? If the answer to that is 'yes', then I think there's a
good chance you would like Kamasutra too. Though it is very different to
either as it's closer to classical than jazz. Did you like "The Plan" from
Emancipation?...that's from Kamasutra.

Kamasutra blows chunks. NEWS is great.

As someone else said, outside of both being instrumental albums, they really have nothing in common.

I guess if you're a fan of synth imitations of strings and horns, you might like Kamasutra. Just stay away from Cutz. That track's just a bad haircut. disbelief
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Kamasutra makes me so sad because it came out the week my girlfriend of 4 years ended our relationship. I can barely listen to it without tearing up, so I don't!

N.E.W.S. is a fantastic album to keep on in the background. I don't like the intro to "East", track 2, however. Too noisy. Interupts the pleasant flow.

I agree that you can't compare NEWS and Kamasutra. I prefer the former. Kamasutra sounds a little plastic in production, trying to perform a classical piece on keyboards gives it a cheap sound. I think it would be interesting hearing it being done by an orchrestra.

If you like NEWS, I'd recommend getting Xpectation.

thank you everyone!

I do like Xpectation, and I hate Emancipation's 'The Plan'. That tacky muted trumpet keyboard patch is just embarrassing.

I shall pass on Kamasutra! smile

I like NEWS & Xpectation (in that order of preference). Not a fan of Kamasutra.
