The first fifteen years of Prince's career are by all means the foundation of the next fifteen.
If you use the song, "Ronnie talk to Russia," from "Controversy," and play it back to back with, "Dear Mr. Man," the growth musically and lyrically is apparent, Although songs such as "I'm Yours," from "For You," target Prince as an incredible talent as a young adult, without the technology that enhances music today. Achieving induction into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame," proves that the man Prince, flies in the second fifteen years of his career, with all due respect to spinning His own cacoon in 1978. The last 15 years of Prince's musical career (and life) have become more spiritual and moved into aslower and more settled pace. I think it's exactly the way everyones lifecycle goes his music has mellowed out beautifully! | |
