Does anyone know of any other time he's performed this? I'm totally intrigued, I LOVE this song, and to hear P singing it .....

i think he did this on the septimo program in 1999. there was a link 2 it back in the day but i guess u can try a google search shrug
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

i don't buy the whole, "prince cried at the phonebooth for two hours and was scarred for life" shtick....i get the impression that man as a child had a strict upbringing just like many others have but for some reason I get the impression that man was a spoiled genius who felt he should always get his way.

thats just my take on things.

I don't think Prince is at all like a 'big child' as a matter of fact he was always mature for his age and never really had a chance to live out his childhood having to be estranged from his parents at the age of 12. Pay attention! mad

Can you picture this guy doing any of his own day to day work? Can you imagine how long ago it was when he had to? Wash his own dishes, clothes, clean up after himself, do his own shopping? He was hyper competent at certain things and that enabled him to be successful and hand off everything else to others. And by child, I mean the spirit of it, having fun playing which is what he has done.

Well you can't be angry at him for that, plenty of people never had to do dishes or housework a day in their lives, especially boys and men. Why are you so jealous of Prince? Because YOU try hard to make it in your career and haven't? That's not his fault!

no, that's not my point at all, and i'm not saying just prince either, get a brain. I'm just saying it's the nature of the lifestyle, now that in combination with so many other things in his personality make him loveable, which is what this thread is about. Some of you guys are just either too defensive or to insulting of Prince. How really unbalanced the board is. The child like quality of Prince is his most affable, its the part that gets to me the most and is just as interesting as the sexual dynamics. I think it gets ignored for a lot of reasons. He has such a rich personality it's hard to focus on. This thread is not about abusive parents, how bad prince can be or anything else. It's about how he has preserved a part of himself which brings alot to the table as an artist.

So many of his tastes strike me as childish too, his cooks have said he never wanted anything to eat other than stuff like mac and cheese, and he's always had stuff like doritos around and cap n' crunch is his favorite cereal. I mean how many grown folks still eat cap n' crunch regularly? He's just a big kid and that's one of his lovable traits.

personally i dont eat cap n' crunch unless it has crunch berries and you cannot eat mac&cheese without a side of chocolate pudding
