Clips of Prince on UK Channel 4 Just for the fams who want to know absolutely EVERYTHING about Prince and anything connected to him...
Tonight there was a documentary about Donatella Versace on Channel 4 and they showed clips of Prince wearing a couple of Versace outfits, with Mayte close by, it looked like they were turning up for some awards ceremony. Interesting to me because I always thought,and I don't know where I got this from, that he had clothes made for him by his own personal designer. Actually, thinking about it, I think it came from a BBC documentary about Prince a few years back when they showed Prince's designs for the Lovesexy stage outfits, and then people making them. | |

Yeah-I saw that programme on TV 2nite too-a few flashes of P in his gold vest too(u know where he's lifting it up with his tongue hanging out),and the ones with Mayte.
I remember the programme u R talking about from a while back aswell,I think it was the Omnibus special about him-it showed u the clothes design part of Paisley Park,and his mannequin dummy,and some of the stuff they have made 4 him. I've still got the tape of it...somewhere. | |

Yeah, the Omnibus video has pride of place in my collection, along with The Beautiful Experience, Tokyo Nude Tour perfect copy, video of Prince rehearsing for the Purple Rain tour in a warehouse, Jill Jones "Mia Bocca" video (for all the right reasons of course), Sheila E. Romance 1600 with Prince and the REvolution coming on at the end, the First Avenue gig where Prince previewed Purple Rain, Parade gig in Detroit on Prince's birthday, etc, etc. I would die for a copy of the last Revolution gig in Tokyo. Anyone got a copy? | |

Does anyone remember the CH4 docu years ago called Controversy - or was the Omnibus?? I remember bits of it - in particular it ends with Prince singing the ladder...

The Omnibus documentry was fantastic!! I remember it well, my fav points were the clips of the Nasty girl promo video, walkthrough Paisley Park, Prince workin the studio (during Graffiti years I guess), the list goes on!
Unfortunately I "borrowed" this to a girl from Uni many years back and never got the damn thing back. I'd love to see it again, would anyone be so gracious..? ..sharmone MF..! | |

Ne1 help me out? It was the Omnibus documentary on BBC1. At the end of it he's singing The Ladder during a Lovesexy rehearsal with Eric on Sax and Prince on piano. My fave clip was about 5 seconds long, where it showed Prince playing guitar with one hand, and keyboards with the other(!). | |

YEA ... love that sound of the Ladder @ the end + the brief bit of Mavis recording the end of God is Alive... sounds different to the versions I have heard too...
I wish he would redo that song and release it... Do it full on Gospel version and take out those naff drum machines... ------------------------------

Do you know I had the Omnibus program on tape - that was a gem of a program - I watched it twice - then my girlfriend at the time (now no longer around!!!) managed to tape an 'Are You Being Served repeat over it!!!
