In fact, what is the definition of a Prince 'song' as opposed to a 'jam' or indeed any description of any given track? By your logic, tracks from NEWS should also be discounted as they're not presented as 'songs' as such.

The tracks on NEWS by any logic, not just mine, are quite obviously compositions and not jams. What was your logic to arrive at the unusual conclusion that they are not presented as songs? They have structure, each one has a title and, clearly and most importantly, the musicians knew exactly what they were doing.

Cloreen is the complete opposite and, just to help you along, the liner notes even explain that it is not a song, but an exercise.
