You know how you can recognize Prince's voice...

Do you think you can tell his guitar playing amongst other musicians, would it stand out to you? How can YOU tell? For me it's those high notes he hits and holds onto. Love it, I just feel it. biggrin

I've always had an ear for prince. Whenever he wrote, produced music for other artist, I can always hear him...
Even when hes not even singing or playing on them lol

This was back in 1998 when i seen Prince...Well anyways, larry graham "GCS'" opened up the show.
And from the moment Larry started to sing, I swear i could hear prince singing and playing in the background confuse
Well about 7 minutes into the show, guess who poped out from behind the curtains with guitar in hand...
Prince...I was like excited "I knew it" biggrin cool

Yeah, I can recognize Prince, Santana and Hendrix instantly. I can't describe it except to say I can feel their tone. For others it takes me longer.

sad Maybe if I listened to a few samples and was chose to pick him out, I might. But I'm not all that familiar with his playing, or anyone else's.

After listening to PE though, I might just be able to, since I listened to it a lot of times. I'm getting used to hearing it and I did notice the guitar in that album alot! Maybe theres hope for me yet! wink

I have to admit, on "So What The Fuss", I didn't recognize Prince's playing at all. He sounded just like any session man, really... Good, but not unique in any way.

like on the radio?

hell yeah, that's because most guitar solo's on the radio (minus the classics stations) are like..two seconds.

Prince has a very distinctive guitar playing style, that's easily recognizable. I can usually pick out his guitar playing from other guitarists.

You can normally tell Prince's voice because it's usually telling somebody to stop stealing his music or he'll sue them.

Maybe, I could recognize Prince's guitar playin'
if I paid attention.
However, paying attention has never really been my strong point.
Heck, anything that requires any mental awareness of any kind isn't what one could call my "forte".
I find that,
that kind of stuff just tends to get in the way of my cat-like instincts.

Any one else feelin' me on this?
Holla.

I could almost always tell if Prince produced or sung or played on a song. There is just something different about it, it has like a unique quality to it. I don't know, shrug I guess I just have like a sixth sense for it or something. lol
