Let's be real music in general(just rap) can be unintelligent and you and your pusedo intellect is vexxing me to the point of insanity. wall lol

Don't take it so personally. Just do some research, read some books, and see reality for what it is... At your age it's not really your fault. Just like the kids who love Hannah Montana and the people who flock to the hellavision to watch American Idol. Those people are ignorant. Once you grow and experience other things, you'll be able to put hip hop and rap in its rightful place... in the trash.

PPPPleeeeeaaase... lol I rather break my Clash album than throw rap in the trash

In your opinion, has cRAP bad affected Prince's music?
I have nothing against cRAP, but cRAP has nothing to do with "real music 4 real music lovers".
Last week i was listening to "Diamonds and pearls": there are some songs (Daddy pop, Live 4 love) really devastated by cRAP, and you can find many eaxamples in all albums starting from 1988.
Jazz influence is ok, as soul, funk, hard rock... but i wish P had never fallen in love with cRAP....

Rap is not music, and Prince should never lower himself to that substandard. Prince is a musician who can play instruments. Rap and hiphop is created by the lower class for low class people (the mainstream and below).

I'll say it again. People who enjoy, listen, or support hip hop music are either:

1. Idiots
2. Low Class
3. Unintelligent

I also feel the same about people who watch network tv and follow shows like American Idol. Society as a whole has been devalued and people in general have become less intelligent and don't expect enough from their art. One look at the top movie box office can tell you that. The National Treasure sequel is the #1 movie in America! What does that tell ya? That the masses are quite stupid and too easily pleased.

The biggest mistake many have about hip hop artist is that they aren't musicians. Even Flava Flav can play multiple instruments and can play them well.

I'm very impressed with the lyrical content I do hear from some artist.

This is actually one genre of MUSIC Prince himself thought was crap until he realized he can't rap nor write for hip hop (Enter Doug E and Eve).

To me, Prince's rap songs only work when they really represent HIM. He needs to have a personal attachment to the song for it to work (instead of just trying to be popular).

Rap songs that work for me:
• My Name Is Prince
• Now
• Days Of Wild
• Face Down

When you "sample" another song and use it for your own as P-Diddy has done or Ice-T has done or Ice Cube has done or MC Hammer has done, etc..... where is the artistry in that? Do you know how difficult it is to learn how to play a musical instrument at a profesional level? And how difficult it is to compose music at the professional level? Rappers are theives - in the temple and everywhere else.

Rap did hurt Prince b/c by the late 80s early 90s he was so desperate to be accepted by the black music community that he decided to sell out and attempt to be hip by incorporating rap into his music. Tony was a friggin disgrace. That that musical goofball was ever allowed onto musical recordings with Prince is a travesty of the highest order. Prince layed down with the dogs and he woke up with fleas. He lost so much respect. Compared to the 80s, very few people give a hoot about Prince's new albums. They are correctly assumed to be garbage.

Prince should have stayed true to himself like Neil Young. If he had done that there would have been a 5 year period or so where he was out of vogue and un-appreciated but then he would have reaped the rewards in the long run. Too many people view Prince as a bad joke now. A shame.
the music knows what your motives are when you are making it

Accujack

Rap should never, ever, be taken seriously as a form of music or art, unless it involves instrumentation with "real" instruments, and is a truly original composition.
Rap/hip-hop as we know it, and it's influence on today's youth has totally ruined today's popular music scene by totally dumbing down people's perception of what real music is.
It is a real shame. All real music lovers should denounce rap/hip-hop at any opportunity.

Add a E to RAP and it spells RAPE!
