The original Led Zep DVD totally made me think how awesome a Prince collection could be. Don't blame Warners because when it's in his own hands you get shoddy material shot cheaply, edited badly such as Rave Un2 the Year 2000, Aladdin DVD, Beautiful Strange.

The picture and sound are both fantastic and top notch. For a 20-year-old film, the Canadian DVD version looks pretty decent. The exception is "U Got the Look," where the picture quality is noticeably worse (supposedly because it was shot separately on videotape instead of film). I haven't heard the 5.1 soundtrack... actually, I've got a bunch of stuff in 5.1 that I've never listened to. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

He's an absolute genius" Robert Plant on Prince. Imagine what'd be like if Prince wasn't such a dick that he could periodically pay fellow musicians similar compliments? And not just those in his inner circle. [Edited 1/1/08 3:34am]

Prince and Led Zeppelin could always do a DVD together. Jimmy Page did a few shows with The Black Crowes and they did a bunch of Zeppelin songs. How about Prince doing his own songs with Zeppelin as his band?

that would kick some serious ass If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Gees dude, I thought the extras were great on the PR 20th Anniversary DVD... - 3 mini-documentaries featuring interviews with key people (W&L, Alan Leeds, Jimmy & Terry etc.) - All of the official promo videos from Prince, The Time & Apollonia 6 - Commentary by Director Steve Fargnoli - the original MTV premiere special What more did you want? This is Purple Rain we're talking about, a relatively minor hit movie in the overall context of things. It wasn't even the highest grossing movie of 1984! how about the deleted scenes that r clearly in the trailer 4 all 3 films? man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I got hold of the brazillian dvd a while ago. The picture quality looked like it was taken from the video and the sound which was claimed to be 5.1 surround was more Dolby pro logic than true digital surround.
The dvd was re-mastered around 3/4 years ago and release across Scandinavia. I got this when it was released and can honestly say that there is a noticible difference in picture and sound quality. Can't complain at all. Life's a Parade! LoveLife, LoveSexy!

OR have it on the 5.99 rack have u noticed that dvd's r being stripped of extras then later repackaged months later with new extras? shit pisses me off but anyway, no ur not the only one that has noticed that in the trailers the fight with jellybean, the barnyard, morris and apples running away from the kids house etc or in UTCM scenes from the race track, prince and jerome coming in2 a "casino" and others and let's not even go there about all the deleted scenes from GB man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
