What songs do you want to hear Prince cover on a cd?

My choices would be:
My favorite song in the world, Unforgettable-Nat King Cole (Falsetto mostly, maybe change the arrangement a bit)
All Along the WatchTower - Jimi\Dylan (A full version.)
I also would really like to hear a cover of Foxey Lady by Jimi. hmmm

What about ch'all?

The Best of You by The Foo Fighters. Very strong Lyrics and Music.

A few Bob Dylan numbers too, Blowin' in the Wind, on Piano or guitar.

As a one-off freebie, he should release a CD maxi-single of his Super Bowl performance from last year, covers included. Make a deal with major city papers, or even something like the NFL Digest & include it as an insert in the issue released closest to game day.

People will forget who Tom Petty is when they hear that & Prince will finally be throwing a bone to Americans worth eating. And making news a year after the fact.

Don't know if he's ever covered this live,
(not having been to EVERY gig he's ever done!) but would love to
hear him do his thing with The Staples Singers' "Come go with Me".

Might be more than I could cope with tho..... love

I think he could do a great version of Massive Attacks Teardrop.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Prince's guitar would also fit well to one of my fav,Marley-song 'Lively up yourself' (btw could it be he played that song already at one concert/aftershow ? )

Also would love to hear him play another Beatles/Lennon song like Imagine

and finally Pink Floyds Money wink

With Come Together, Whole Lotta Love, I wanna take you higher, Push & Pull - to name a few - he's done already great coverversions for me
