"Others Here With Us" just because of this line.....7-month-old baby died in her sleep
The parents went crazy and cried 4 a week
They swore they heard her laugh in the crib by the wall
They're convinced she's with us if she's anything at all
sad cry

I almost cried when "When 2 R In Love" came on for the first time after I broke up with my ex. It was kind of "our song"
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

I cried when he performed 'Sometimes it snows in April' at the 02 - I think it was Friday 24th August.. My dad had been diagnosed with cancer a few months before and for some reason that song just really hit me that night. The tears just kept coming

The first time I heard "Purple Rain", on the day it was released. Sitting up on the rooftop of my Hollywood apartment, cold beer in hand, fresh green on deck. Something about those first few chords attached a Main Line to my heart and transmitted all of that song's passion and anguish directly into my soul. I knew that song was an emotional blockbuster the moment I heard it.

It might have been "sometimes it snows in April" which I heard for the first time a couple of months ago.

But it's been a LONG time since one of his songs has driven me to tears.

The first 7 times I saw Purple Rain... the part of the movie where he performs the song... I was a puddle falloff
It was so beautiful and he was just so good... I knew the song would be powerful, but I never expected it to have that effect on me.
Occasionally, when I hear it, a tear comes to my eye, but I don't puddle anymore when I watch that scene giggle

Gold has always had the ability to "make me cry for all the right reasons"... either cuz I think its beautiful, I don't want it to end, or I'm going thru something and hearing it helps me get those feelings out into the open.
I call it my "soul tattoo" for a reason thumbs up!
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

DANGEROUSx

The first time was when I first saw Purple Rain. The bit that had me bawling my eyes out was when Prince is singing his heart out to 'The Beautiful Ones' and Apples is sitting there all teary eyed.. that got me bad, still does. sad

The last song that made me cry was just a few days ago - International Lover.

It was unexpected, but it triggered personal feelings and made me feel lonely.

It brought to mind the extended period that I was waiting for someone and when I finally saw this person, all I could do was cry. It wasn't tears of relief but confusion which later on I went back to many more years of waiting which was killing me. Listening to this song which seemed tender and somewhat sweet is what made me cry. confused

Ok, call me corny!!!! lol

But listening to the tenderness in Prince's voice evokes other feelings.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Sometimes it Snows in April. I was really depressed and it came on my discman and I just had to weep. It was the perfect song for that moment.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I used to make fun of my friend for telling me he cried when he saw Poison live. It was his favorite band (he has no taste LOL). I then felt bad for ever making fun of him because of Prince. I saw Prince live for the first time in 2004 in Cleveland. I had heard he was doing all his hits on the Musicology tour, which he pretty much did. Then it happened, during the acoustic set, he played "Sometimes it snows in April", not one of his "hits". My all time favorite Prince song though. I balled like crazy. All the emotions of the song mixed with my emotions of seeing him live for the first time, hearing him do my favorite song...LIVE....unbelievable. The song reminds me of my best friend, Glen, who died on his 21st birthday, at a time we weren't talking to each other over some stupid reason. That was 15 years ago, I no longer, ever, carry grudges.

Of course comparing the emotion of Prince songs with the unemotional Poison songs, I don't feel that bad for making fun of my friend LOL.
Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

When I see him perform the song "Purple Rain" live it usually brings a tear down my cheek, and "Sometimes It Snows In April" makes my eyes well up.

Purple Rain - I think for me it's a nostalgic feeling beside the fact that it's a beautiful heart felt song.

Sometimes It Snows In April - It's simply sad....focusing on an unavoidable fact of life.

Beautiful Loved And Blessed. Sometimes in life things get hard and dealing with different ups and downs makes me sad, but hearing that song brought tears to my eyes because in the end I am Beautiful Loved and Blessed!
