First of all I want to state I'm not some crazy fanatic.

There has been actual research done that music can be healing. Do you ever find yourself in a depression funk you can't seem to shake? A bad break up? A cold that's lasted for days? I myself get freaked out when I have to go to the dentist. I bring along Parade to keep my mind at ease.

I try other bands that I love like The doors, Miles Davis, Hendrix. They just don't seem to help like Princes music does. Am I crazy, or have you had situations where his music brings a calm effect to your life?

Yes, definately healing. Stress can do strange things to the body. I didn't belive all the hoopla about stress until it happened to me. But now one night alone with Prince can bring me out of the deepest funk. It can be uplifting, inspirational & funny, all at the same time. Cheers to you Prince!

His old shit was cool, but not necessarily "healing". His recent shit makes me want to slice my wrist and drain every last drop of blood til I drop dead on the cold floor. So I guess it's not very healing at all.

About 7 years ago I had severe depression and part of my treatment was music therapy. We had to play a song of our choice every week and then talk about it. Played Prince every week for about 3 months. Definitely helped me articulate how I was feeling. BloodSugarSexMagik was a good one too. All the older people hated it

When I was in High School my senior year('96) I was stuck in the hospital for 3 months due to illnes. I was like 16 or 17 and stuck in the Pediatric ward!(needless to say, it was horrible). But the whole three months, all I had was channels 2,4,5,7,9,11,13 and (I'm used to cable) and my prince CD's. They helped me to the GREATEST extent. U don't reliase how positive a spin Prince gives music untill you're in the dumps. Standouts for me at the time were Batman, Purple Rain, Come, and the B-sides. When your always in pain and all you've got around you is a bunch of sniviling snot-nosed kids who are also in pain, U really need a pick me up.

But then again, maybe the music seemed so entertaining because of my enviornment was so lacking of entertainment, that even if Bozo the clown showed up, I might have been excited.

Yes, I do think Prince music can be healing if a person really can relate to what he is singing about. For me such songs like So Dark helped me to get out of bad relationships and help me to be strong not to let the break up get to me too emotional, because I think me did the right thing breaking up something that just put too much pain in my heart.
