I might pay a couple dollers for a nice glossy cover (And no i dont want one...im just saying) Ohh as far how good is..It's cool reminds me of the Madhouse cds Thanks, he said it was a promo cd from a radio station. He had good reviews, I hope it's not a fake I paid $30. I do love Madhouse Wish me luck! I wouldn't worry about it being a "fake". It is almost certain you are getting a CD-R since there was never a pressed CD of Xpectation. They are all CD-Rs. If you love Madhouse, you should dig this. And $30 isn't too much if you have no other way of obtaining it, CD-R or no. Enjoy! Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

To be clear, that is your opinion. And I'm even sure there are others that may feel the same, but that does not make it a fact. It just means it's your opinion. Certainly, the music on "Xpectation" is different, even strange, but that's what makes it interesting and a worthwhile production for some, which is my opinion. What's great about choice is; you don't have to buy it or listen to it, and I can continue to appreciate it for what it is: Music that is different and interesting, music that is unusual. Our opinions do share common ground in one area though; I'm not crazy about "The Vault: Old Friends For Sale" either. I guess it's true what they say about "opinions" and "assholes", huh? Funny how that works out. The reason I ask is because I have NEWS and like 'South' but really havent found time to really listen to the whole CD more than 3 times. Just wondering because I like your opinions (even though i did like the Vault, but I can see why some might not). Gee-wiz, that would be kind of a difficult contrast for me to draw. Partly because I haven't listened to "NEWS" in a while (though I recall it's sound). and partly because it's sort of hard for me to critique music. But the best way I'd put it, in as far as how it feels to me, I'd say "NEWS" is more of a cohesive project, and "Xpectation" is more loose and abstract. Both are similar in that they are way-off in left field. Also, I'd say "NEWS" is earthier, stronger, and thick with bass and solid rhythm. "Xpectation" is lighter, flirtier, and spacier. It's hard for me to explain (can you tell?). Though I'm honored by your interest in my opinion.

BorisFishpaw said: It's definitely a fake or a bootleg.
Xpectation was never manufactured on CD on promo or otherwise. It's only ever been made officially available as MP3 downloads. I find it absolutely ironic. Prince could make some money from official CD releases of "TCI", "Slaughterhouse" and "Xpectation" (not to say some CB II, III and on...), but it's not his business. Too easy to do. I wouldn't mind to pay a lot for an actual pressed CD to have these releases, even if they was some kind of bootleg or pirate. And honestly I wouldn't feeling me guilty for this, because I find simply goofy to not give people the choice to have them like they want, MP3 or actual factory-pressed CD. Prince has all in his hands, but sometimes seems to forget of the best things to give all his attention to the worse. Just my opinion.

I like Xpectation. The instrumental stuff is great and there's some really good extras on it. He does a cover of "Red House" by Hendrix.
Though for $30, you certainly got ripped off. I would have given it to you for free. Am I allowed to say that?
