Those who got PE for free... Six months on, do you value it as much as your other Prince CD's?
It still doesn't feel like a proper Prince album to me, in its little cardboard sleeve. much as i like freebies, i think it cheapens the enjoyment of the music. I'd rather NOT have the choice of getting it free. am I

Otherwise bid on eBay for another freebie copy, but pay over the odds. Go on, bankrupt yourself, and it'll suddenly be the most priceless piece of music you've ever listened to. Whatever you do, don't play the one you keep because it loses value on each rotation, and it won't sound any better anyway. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

When I put it into my CD cabinet it felt weak and thin. It was even worse than NEWS.
Then I found the solution to help me remember PE was there. I put my other 16 free copies next to it. It would have been 20, but I made the other 4 into a coaster set. .

I own two free, cardboard versions and one retail version ( and yes, I also own a retail version of Musicology). I don´t think that "free" equals "cheap music".
I´m not really a hardcore collector ( knowing that there are some REAL HARDCORE collectors out there, I can´t really call myself a collector ) but I still buy every offical Prince release. That also goes for things I bought as a bootleg...as a Prince afficionado of many years, I would always buy every offical release and can´t really understand why he´s so strictly against bootlegs. Planet Earth is an album that I still enjoy, even though it is not really on high rotation in my household. It could be, if it wasn´t for a couple of flaws that I simply can´t ignore. I mean, there´s a lot of greatness on it but some of the lyrics just don´t cut it for me . The music itself is really good, especially SHOE, Lion Of Judah, Mr. Goodnight ( just the groove, not the stupid lyrics), and maybe one or two other songs. Lion of Judah is really good but it could be one of my favorite songs but I´m not really into those kind of metaphors.Still, it´s a good , heartfelt song about a relationship gone sour , and I love the breezy, airy atmosphere. Then again, I´m one of the few people who really like Cinnamon Girl and the social commentary and the light, breezy guitar in it , so there you go. I also like TRC a lot, even though there´s a lot of stuff on it that I don´t agree with ( some of the lyrics seriously spoil the listening pleasure, just like on Planet Earth. With TRC, it´s the ideology I don´t agree with. On PE, some lyrics just sound plain dumb.Other than that, it is much better than people here think it is). " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I got this CD as a gift and was taken completely by surprise by it! I sort of treasure this CD and consider it precious. It's beautiful!

It doesn`t matter to me if it`s a thin cardboard sleeve...the important thing to me it`s the content... wich is unfortunately more weak than the cover! [Edited 12/21/07 5:34am] "Goodness will guide us if Love is inside us"

All u have 2 do is go to the record store and purchase a new plastic sleeve, an then use and X-Acto blade to cut the symmetrical squares and be the first Prince fan to jazz up the latest cd's delivery flop. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

cont (due to not finishing my thought).... This CD also made me want to understand who Prince really is and that is the reason for my coming to this site around August of 2007 and interact in the forums. When I tried to set-up an account with my username, it said it was already taken. I was until I realized that it was me who signed up years ago and never used the account. As I was mentioning in my previous post, I treasure this CD because it is something that appeals to my ears and heart.
