Prince plays the blues-what songs? Hey, what songs do you think Prince plays the blues best on. I think he does a good job on The Ride, Zannalee, If I had a Harem (the 'fake' one), plus there are one or two segues which just have him jamming some blues for a minute or two. What other songs do you think Prince can play the 'blues'?

None. I like blues but when I listen to Prince I want funk. When I'm in the mood for blues, I'll pull my Z.Z. Hill records. Andy is a four letter word.

I hear ya. P is not that great at the blues (maybe he's never lived through it). His voice doesn't display the pain and conviction that most blues singers have. Johnnie Taylor, ZZ Hill, and Denise Lasalle are really good at their delivery in a blues song. When P tries to sing blues (like The Ride, Undertaker, etc.), you don't feel it. WHen Mavis sang Undertaker, she made you feel it. [Edited 12/20/07 11:50am] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

temptation is full blues man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Cock-eyed Woman. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Cock-eyed Woman. wasn't it a play on that though, where he was calling her 3-eyed instead? i was a little bit sleep-deprived and by that stage of 7/7/07, so i could easily have hallucinated what i heard.

Yeah, he said "I got a cockeyed woman...she asked me for the pepper, but she was lookin' at the salt," LOL! Then he sang about the three handed woman. She was left handed, right handed and under-handed! Man, that First Ave. aftershow was fun. Prince wore our butts out on 7-7-7. He ain't no Bobby Blue Bland but he does okay. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

prince is not a blues man but excuse me he is great on blues when he wants to be
here are great examples of princce blues five woman- tell me if you don't tell people who is playing guitar they would think it's b.b. king -amazing replica of b.b. king sound. first avenue blues (blues in g)-this little blues ditty is done during 1984 aftershow prince sings some witty lyrics like"i wanted to introduce you to a band but you already knew their names" prince's blues guitar playing on this track would put eric clapton and late stevie ray vaughn to shame. the ride -las vegas 1999 live -great slowed down version of the ride. prince incorporates blues licks into his playing, but his fondation is more into blues rock but when he tries harder to play blues he can put to shame ome famous bluesmans.
