The media...They say this...They say that...
I am sure that there are circles of friends and arguments amongst peer groups and things...but does the average person really know any truth of a whole story?

Where Prince is concerned, I am sure the girls just get curious or jealous, and have nothing truly to pick a bone about...

It seems that coming to a forum, can suggest idea's about Prince that may or may not be true...As far as I'm concerned...I really don't internalize what is being said about Prince...I'm the type of person that has to hear something from someone's mouth, before I take something seriously...

Do you guys take everything you read here seriously, or do you look at it like it's all media trash?

Loving Prince unconditionally, is all we can do from a distance...And I do. All that ever bothers me, is that I'm not loving him unconditionally from the front row.

I don't take gossip on here too seriously. There are times I've gone away from the Org feeling a bit down... then I remind myself it's only someone else's opinion - they don't actually KNOW Prince either. So, I listen to some of my fav tracks, remember the O2 concerts, and get back to my own perception of him. Then I feel much better. That's when I have a little break from the Org!

I think the majority of the people on here just come to discuss P and his music, as we can't do in the outside world - everyone starts to think you're completely bonkers But there are SOME people on here, who just come to stir up bad feeling, who always slag him off, and I just wonder why bother? Seems they might have some other issues in their own lives they need to deal with. Sure, constructive criticism is good, and not everyone thinks everything he does is great, and quite rightly, but some posts get a bit tired....same old, same old.

Oh yes, perception is a strange thing. Even in our everyday lives, everyone has a different perspective of a story or event. I agree, I don't really take anything on board unless it comes from the mouth of the person her/himself. So probably none of us ever really know the whole truth about anything.....

I guess the only thing to take seriously about gossip, is that sometimes it paints a distorted picture of someones' life.

Sometimes I look at the Entertainment programs, and realize that Entertainers live in a "Talk Prison" Someone always looking to report their next move...

I suppose that is the freedom that non-entertainers have.

WUMs is what they call them Wind Up Merchants, which can sometimes add humour to the site, one would have to be pretty dense in the head to take everything seriously here. It goes overboard in both directions, from the fanatical to the total anti Prince, but IMHO, there is very little hate threads or posts here

It is difficult to know the truth. The media will present one perspective, and other people will present yet another. So, I myself don't take gossip seriously.

I am surprise with some of the things I read here but I must remember it is the org and people's opinion. I must remember not to take things too seriously here.

This is a good question, thanks for asking. Personnally I believe very little of what I read here and in the Media. In the work I do have/done for a looooong time, I've seen the press report stories, written in the newspapers, that were completely false. It's true, so I'm cautious about what I see in the media. I have a friend who is a reporter and while he is serious about researching his work, he's in the minority.

As for this site, this is more of a diversion than anything. I like to hear others' opinions about the music because some of the Orgers have followed Prince's career for many years, that's interesting to me.

I also like the fun and witty discussions and comments.

As for the other stuff, I don't mind someone's opinion, but as is the case in my personal life, I accept very few people's direction and or opinion as regards me.
