I'd choose listening to the less radio-friendly unique sound of a passioned, emotive, original voice over that of a commercial, perfectly bland 'vocal tone' drone any-day... And as far as beyonces "EXTREME props", i imagine it's more like 'extreme herpes' for all the corporate cock she has no-doubt sucked to get to where she is! Just readin' it like I see it... Beyonce trying to hit every note in existence while Prince plays Purple Rain: $1 Beyonce flashing her fat ass around in "look at me" desperation while Prince plays some chords: $1.50 Prince's guitar duetting in harmony with amys vocals: PRICELESS . clearly you didn't read ANYTHING because I said both singers were good in a DIFFERENT way.....however you can't sit here and truly say that Amy Winehouse is a better singer just because she "sounds different" or she has more passion....I'm not going by emotion but PURE TALENT...Amy is not on a Tina Turner Level, nor a Dusty Springfield level, heck not even a Nikka Costa level(Nikka's voice is just heavenly live AND she has a rustic uniqueness about her sound which I adore) in terms of singing ability in that type of rustic/rockish/bluesy tone...but to say Amy Winehouse is a better singer just because she sounds different is ludicrous.....yes I admit Amy has better lyrics and is a little less annoying but the point is Beyonce would kill her in a singing competition...and no matter how much you dislike Beyonce for personal reasons pr how many annoying extended runs Beyonce does lol you have to realize the child has a gift....heck I HATE Luther Vandross and Barry Manilow but I'm not gonna sit here and front and honestly say Elton John is a better singer than him just cause I like Elton more ... more original heck yes,more engaging maybe, better singing skills NO[Edited 12/19/07 18:24pm] | |

i doubt she has the energy or the guts or the interest to really try for something original. someone else would have to step in and help her do it. And that someone sure isn'T prince, wh o is also very much attached to old school style. I wish her all the best, but I don't think that she's really going places. a couple of years and she'll b out of the limelight and trying to repeat herself. No originality! small circles, big wheels!

I love amy winehouse.
Her voice is absolutely amazing. As for her personal life....I can say I can definalely relate. I've been through alot of the same shit. But she seems to be getting the help she needs. Let's go down 2 the holy river,
