Prince "Jaguar" Instrumental Demo?

Ok, what the hell is this all about????

"previously un-circulating 6 minute instrumental version also known as "warehouse mix".
this is the January 10,1986 version Prince worked on for Sheena Easton.
the track later turned up on Mavis Staples 1988 album Time Waits For No One.
look for this and other previously un-circulated Prince studio tracks on the upcoming PurpleKnights release The Rain And U,coming in Jan.'08"

With an mp3 file to boot...as proof?
eek

Listened to it twice now...it's not a fan mix or dj stuff or mash up, the only way you'd do this is by having the multitrack....this track is legit.

It's got the drumjs of Jaguar and the other instruments sound alot like that of the first Madhouse album..synths, guitars.

Interesting track, sounds alot like his work on Sheila E´s and other protege´s albums at that time, I have seen lyrics to this as well when I googled it, Probably from the Mavia Staple´s album. Nice though, fits in nicely with the Blue Limousine JOTW at 3121. As for "The Rain and U", it is quite possible but I have not heard anything about it lol

Someone offered up this additional info, "It's not from January 10, 1986. It's from January 14th and not entirely
instrumental. The timing is 6:38. It was recorded at Sunset Sound
Studios, Los Angeles. The "warehouse mix" doesn't exist AFAIK"

hmm ...well the mp3 file is 6:15 long...who's right?

There were 3 versions of Wally:

Original version with the lyrics about Susannah..erased
Second version with diferent lyrics or redone
3rd version with more instruments

Or something like this... razz

According to Susan and Eric, Wally was recorded once and erased the same night. The next day Prince rewrote and re-recorded Wallya nd later Eric and Matt added some horns. Any other information is unsubstantiated.

my professional opinion is this Jaguar outtake is fake, someone looped the real beat and added slightly too soft EQ'd (by prince's standards) and too softly attacked additional instruments.

Prince never ever records guitars and keys softly with reverb that cushions. He is ALWAYS hard on the mix with the guitar embellishments. It's compressed and pops on his real mixes. Even the demos.

Also the actual composition is too mellow in flavor for him! He always makes his compositions bug or tickle in some way.
