I've always preferred the album version....its got a much more live feel to it, and sounds slightly more passionate. The chorus on the single version doesn't quite the impact that the chorus on the album version does and the song sounds slightly more computerised.

Album version is better, in my humble opinion.

I really the extended verion too, aswell as the Quite nite mix. I always talk about it when ever I Hate U gets mentioned. I like the extended version more than the album version too. cool
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Probably something to do with growing up in the eighties!! biggrin I've always loved Madonna's music but it took me a bit longer to warm to her as a person. I didn't like her at the start, but I've grown to love her...and of course, she's gorgeous to, which helps!! lol

Definately the album version. The maxi single version sounds shit hoppish.

I like both.

I love his voice on this and it was all so personal and he had no shame.

the album version since the single edit overlaps the chorus over the solo disbelief
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Album version hands down.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

this is one of those few instances where i think the single edit is brilliant
except that it doesn't fade out AFTER the guitar solo

Definitely the album version, specifically the "Album version" from the single, where the NPG Operator voice is edited out.

Totally agree. You get the full version of the song, without the NPG Operator
or the crossfade at the end.
