Show some love for ATWIAD

"Around The World In A Day" is my favorite Prince album. I notice that this album never gets any attention. It's like people forget all about this gem. There is some classic material on here. "Pop Life", "Condition of the Heart", "Paisley Park", "Tambourine". Come on ya'll show ATWIAD some love!

Many times when I show my love,
it's usually while I'm playing this album.
However, as I grow older, I'm finding it more & more diffilcult all the way through to Temptation.
These days,
I find myself shooting my atwiad by the time I've gotten to the second chorus of Pop Life.
My tamborine solos just aren't as extensive as dey used to be. sad

Did anyone mention that it has the coolest cover art (besides TRC) of any of Prince's albums?

I'm basing one of my own performance images off one of the characters (think the woman wearing a beret)...

This is my absolute, hands-down favourite album. I only have one problem with it: the way he sings the "giggle" line in COTH. Barring that bit, there's not a second on ATWIAD I don't love.

I adore the cover art. Am I wrong, or wasn't that woman supposed to be Clara Bow? confuse

Definetly, without a doubt one of my top 3. Condition of the heart blows me away, and Paisely Park makes me think of heaven. smile

Might be, but Clara Bow had a rounder head, that I can remember. Have you looked at pix of her?

As a follow=up to Purple Rain, I'd say it's actually better than it's predecessor. The only songs I don't like are Tamborine and America (but I still wanna see if I can get a single version of it, for the b-sides) and the end of Temptation. The whole speech thing, bleh....The only beef I have with my copy it The Ladder skips really bad (vinyl smile )....
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

I have, and that's why I'm not sure. I've had a couple folks say it's supposed to be her, but she never looked much like Clara to me.

Ah OK, I see... the chick I was talking about is inside wearing a raspberry beret... the Clara Bow they are talking about is on the front, wearing a one-strapped bra contraption w/ matching skirt. She looks rather like Clara Bow.

it's the album that set the precedence 4 any other artist i have ever liked. that after a big successful album, ALLOW AN ARTIST 2 GROW MUSICALY AND ARTISTICLY. in essecense upon 1st listen i hated this album, but let it sit 4 3 days and let it spin. america is the jam pure out. tambourine took 2 me 2 years 2 finally dig it. but overall i enjoy this album. maybe in 20 years i'll dig Planet earth lol but i DOUBT IT!
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
