tell you what I love, that he didn't really tinker with the end of EndorphinMachine too much. Play that track followed by Space and they still almost seque together like on the earlier version of Come.

Question for oldschool prince fans.

Do you like this album like the cats posting?

or is this a newbie thing?

I think its ok,... overated, I think of this period as the begining of the dumbed down music and lyrics.

"I Hate U" is the best of the bunch, the eric leeds extended version best.

Early 80's here too! Have 1999 and LRC on seperate 12" Vynal (or as my kids once said "those big CDs in the attic?"), might be woth something now. OOO and a 12" picture disk (what was that of? Must go look!).

Gold as I said earlier in the thread is a good album, but it was much better live.

Re-some other points in the thread. I don't know if the tour was financially sucsessful, but to me it was a great tour esp after batman. No it didn't matter I didn't know much of the material, the show rocked. For the yooung uns the set is in the CD cover. In case there are very young un's I wont go in to what the bits of the set represented lol.

Was it really Mayte that flew? Must be an age thing! I remember it. Maybe it's confusion in my head from Wembley stadium when she came down pretending to be P. Now who's going to tell me that wasn't Mayte?

Sorry rambling again!

Well then, that's the most important. smile Wish Warner wouldn't have done what they did though... TGE should have been a hit album.

sigh
The first of quite of a few albums that people had to talk me into getting.

Seriously, though, I originally didn't want my collection to be as huge as it is now. I wanted the best and only what was necessary.
Nearly a year later... I'd say 19 albums is a good number (but I still have to get two more).

One of the people here told me to check out "Love 4 One Another," the promo special for this particular album... which was on Housequake at the time (temporarily, of course). I wasn't too crazy about the songs there, but none of them made the cut anyways.
BUT when I heard the song "Gold" and watched the performance, I knew I had to keep my eye out for it just in case.

Early during spring break, I spent a weekend searching the local 'wrecka stows' for whatever I could get my hands on. I found this album used at FYE. Used or not, I had to take my chances. And it hasn't failed me yet.

It took me several listens to get into, of course, but after giving it my time, a few of the tracks started shining like stars in the sky. Shh has some of the most beautiful guitar I've ever heard (any more beautiful... and you'd have Purple Rain). Dolphin has a good theme to it that I could definitely relate to, aLways choosing ur own path no matter what anyone tells you.

Of course, "Gold" goes way back for me. Heh, I've done a lot in the past year, so a year feels like a long time ago... but even so, I'm getting all nostaglic over this. I can still remember what it felt like the first time I heard it.

I haven't listened to the album in what feels like ages, but I'm sure I'll have loads to write about when I do. I always do. thumbs up!

When I think about the album now, I'd say it's one of my super-special ones that hits certain spots that many of the others can't. I'd seriously rank it up there with 1999 and Purple... SOTT, I'm not quite sure because I'm still hot on that album giggle
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
