I’ve often wondered if Prince would ever attempt writing a children’s book, as so many music star’s have. Like. Madonna & Ringo Star for example

His imagination is hugely creative, and I think he would write some gems of children’s books

He has the talent! He’s written film scripts, PR, UTCM, SOTT and GB.

Also the moral guidance he could give to a future generation would be beneficial to society.

What category & subject of book would you like him to write?

Elaborate if you like!!

I would like something along the lines of a Harry Potter type book


Or maybe an adult theme book for the likes of Lottielooloo1968.

Wasn't he going to do this when he was with Mayte, c.1996? I'm sure I remember reading an interview when he was talking about this.

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of the 'celebrity children's book'. Is it really that hard to write a childrens book? It's a bit of a wank if you ask me. Stick to music I say . Besides, he would probably confuse the heck out of a kid with all his Princebonics...

Sure, look what he did for Happy Feet, and he's got a great imagination.

I was thinking too how cool it would be for him to write an Enviroment Friendly book, you know, like 20 things you can do to make the world a better place, type thing.

And because of his prolific song writing gift, he could throw in a free, funky, kids CD with some more Happy Feet style songs

A CD or DVD of songs for children, on the order of the sort of things he did on Muppets Tonight?

"Starfish and Coffee" was particularly memorable.

Back in the mid-90s,Prince and Mayte talked about writing some children's books together.Not sure how far they got with this project.

The 1996 book/album was going to be called "Happy Tears" - as mentioned on www.thedawn.com at the time. Not sure how far it got, but supposedly it was due to include She Gave Her Angels - the guitar solo on that track is way too killer for my 11-month-old's ears, though... Maybe it was a different version.

As for the book part, though, I imagine Purpleknight's theory is dead on.

just an old side track idea, yet I thought of Prince as a purple praying mantis, singing. It's very cute...

Of course he would write an amazing childrens book - as long as he didn't do too much preaching I am sure he would do an outstanding job! I would love to buy it - can just see all the doodles on the pages as well - it would be FAB!

Prince probably could do anything he wanted to do he's so creative and it would only take him half the time to do it cause he's got it like that!
