This is the only Prince album I have yet to hear. Is it any good?, I was not a big fan of the album, but I liked Exodus, so which one is it closer to? (if at all). Does Prince sing the lead vocals like in New Power Soul, or does he hide in the background like in Exodus?Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Actually, Tony M. raps most of the album.
There are a few notables on this album... Deuce & A Quarter Black M.F. In The House 2gether Call The Law Johnny Prince sings on Johnny which is pretty amusing. 2gether shows up on the 1800NEWFUNK Album. I think "Call The Law" from the London Aftershow at Bagley's Warehouse is off the hook... cracknbush

He was a member of the 'old Black and Purple Org' He went by GoldNigga2000. He was one of my fav orgers, he loved Sheila E. Haven't seen him around much at the new Org. Seems like we lost alot of people after the transition...
Or did you mean the NPG album Blue Prince [This message was edited Thu Oct 17 18:30:24 PDT 2002 by TheBluePrince] Blue

Imagine the 1992 symbol album without any songs, then add a 80% increase of the Tony M involvement. You'll gag i promise.

Tony M is on nearly every song, ruining every bit of promise any tracks show. Actually it's fair to blame Prince, why did he allow this guy on his records?!

Good album Gold Nigga We Can Turn this Muther Out! Love it! Johnny is the Kick Ass song you all and seeing P and Tony do it at Radio City was like Awesome. It was fantastic Tony and Prince on the side of the Stage singing it. I died a Thousand Deaths. YEOW!

It's worth it just for "Black MF In The House".
Prince is all over that joint. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It's a pimpin' album. I can remember calling 1-800-NEW-FUNK to order it, and the operator asking me, "What can I do for you today?" And I said, in my very white-man voice, "Yeah, I want to buy Goldnigga." What a hoot. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. I rate Tony M's greatest ever moment as the way he rolls into the words "Gold Nigga" right on cue with the bass with "Ahhh-Gold Nigga!" on the first track.
Also wasn't there some issue with the track "Guess who's Knockin'" and a simillar Paul McCartney recording?? [This message was edited Fri Oct 18 8:15:13 PDT 2002 by DarrenMawbey] -----------------------------------------

There's some really nice instrumental bits too. Oilcan is great. It's not as good as Exodus but has some better tracks than alot of "Symbol".
