Can anyone elaborate on Sheila E.'s involvement in this track? She gets songwriting credit in the liner notes of the Apollonia 6 album, and the MP3 on the Revelations 2.1 disc is tagged with Sheila as the artist. "I Was FINE Back in the Day!"

I've never heard this song before except for that excerpt this past week.

How ironic, I was listening to the Apollonia 6 album as it was about to fade into "Blue Limousine" from "Sex Shooter" upon seeing this thread http://www.last.fm/user/somebodyunot

Funny, earlier today, I was watching that one Mr. Christian video that includes BL. When Brenda sings this song, she looks so deliciously slutty.

he used to put out stuff like this like weekly; we had a band called blue limousine after this cut

Like the song..When I first heard the clip last week, I was hoping that the full version would be posted. I for one like he edited some of the lyrics out, I do do not care to hear things like that.

Very nice, I like it ALOT.
I don't mind the edits as long as I can still get the original*. And I can still hear "big titties" its very, very distorted. *If he pulled all the old records some how and replaced them w/ edited versions, I'd go nuts. But...thats...im...possible...right?

What's the line that's been scrambled/reversed near the end? Sounds like something about titties? Anyway, I find Prince's self-censorship really annoying "big titties" is scrambled

I always liked this song, I would've loved it if it was recorded by Sheena Easton. "POOR IS THE MAN WHO'S PLEASURES DEPEND ON THE PERMISSION OF ANOTHER" Madonna

I might be wrong, but wasn't this song available as well in the Reflection Room of the old npgmusicclub website for some time?
If so, then it's obvious a song which he (or his staff) enjoy very much. (Alternatively, it might be one which they happen to have on their server ...)

It was on the NPGMC and if I remember correctly they didn't annoyingly "scr...scr...scratch" out the "big titties", which means I do have it unaltered somewhere in my stash! Woohoo!

This shit should have been on a midprice Us/European cd release 20 years ago. Along with that Mazarati cd. Damn, the only two P-related cd's I don't have in my vault....

But it's too easy to forget that it's a story and a jam, regardless of any 'mind-blowing' factor. Saying it's "not that good" is a moot point, really. I am MrVictor....

even tho i love this song i'm in a agreement that new or unreleased tracks is the way the jam of the week should b. utilize that website more properly by offering old material 4 sale so those that don't have certain albums/mixes can purchase them ... but then again this would make 2 much sense 4 him now wouldn't it? man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Is there anyone else that thinks this song could've made a nice debut in the Purple Rain movie?
Based on the story it's telling,...I think it fits perfectly. Intelligent people talk about ideas. -->Average people talk about things. --> Small people talk about other people.

Jamie Starr is more hard-edged R&B funk with Morris playing the drums as certain points. This is Revolution/Pop stuff.. It could've easily had been Sheila and W & L singing this...

Today's producers want to jump to the past, so the last two decades sound like a homage to 80s, and 70's.. Still, Prince is the only one who can pull of this "atmosphere". He probably threw away those synths though.. He was less of a "master of music" then, So, the simple things sold more to simple people. He rode a chord and simple lyrics out the box. Now, he is a master of music. So, most of it goes over the heads of most who want a steady-beat and a sing-song-y lyrics. He is less of producer and more of an eclectic artist now. Minneapolis Urban New Wave to the max.. The guitar is just rich...
