Most songs before Diamonds and Pearls (when he hired Michael B as a drummer) have Prince on drums... Bobby Z only played on a few tracks... Sheila E on a few... Morris on a few...
rest is all Prince. I love the drumming he does on "Darling Nikki", "I'm Yours", "Christopher Tracy's Parade"... [Edited 12/10/07 16:26pm]

Sure,...He's playing drums on his debut album. He's playing drums on all of the songs to his second album, except for Bambi. He's playing drums on everything on Dirty Mind. He's playing drums on Controversy, & Do Me, Baby. Not on Jack U Off though. That's Bobby. He's playing partial drums on Lady Cab Driver. Drums on International Lover and Free. He's playing drums some tracks on Parade, etc. His playing drums on some of the tracks on The Time albums as well as Vanity 6 and The Family like Mutiny and High Fashion. In fact, he's playing drums on any song that isn't credited to another drummer, or that is not a programmed drum-track In other words, lots!! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

That's the greatest rock song Prince ever did.(with andre's bassline of course). Bambi sure sounds like prince and the engineers who did that album said there was nobody elese in the studio I don't believe bobby did that track. His live drumming is nowhere near as good as that.

Actually he did alot of blending live drums with the LM-1 Linn drum machine. At least on alot of early 80's stuff. Release Yourself

Prince has played and recorded drums on every album he has released, with only ONE POSSIBLE exception: 'Rainbow Children'.
Michael Bland stated (right here on the Org) that Prince even played drums on "Shhhh". "He's a musician's musician..."

It was another song that surprised even me, when Michael said it was Prince, but I can't remember which one! Anyway... Prince has played and recorded the drums on nearly every album recorded.
