Prince in real life... like Under the Cherry Moon character or Purple Rain I watched both these DVDs and the characters played are so different in each one (different storylines of course). Although Prince is supposed to have played himself in Purple Rain (It is still a story!)
So which one is Prince's real life character close to. Is he funny and cute as in UTCM or as in Purple Rain? He is under a lot of pressure with his career but I think he is still a funny guy! What do you think?

I've always thought both of those roles reflected Prince's personality. If you think about it, both of those sides are shown in his music.

Very good question.
I think it all depends on who he's with... but I can't be completely sure. When he's on his own, though, working in the studio, writing music, I think he's a lot more like The Kid. Onstage, he's a combination of the two. He's a lot like Christopher Tracy because he has a lot of fun with himself and people are having fun with him. He's also like The Kid during the club scenes onstage (performing Let's Go Crazy, The Beautiful Ones, Computer Blue, Darling Nikki, Purple Rain, I would Die 4 U and Baby I'm a Star)... of course he's nothing like Computer Blue & Darling Nikki anymore. It also varies with his mood. I've heard he has a good sense of humor. When he's with Sheila E, I imagine he's a lot more laid-back and relaxed. But when he's with the guys (like with the New Power Generation in the 90's), he's more serious and reserved. He doesn't say exactly what's on his mind, but when it comes the music itself, he's not shy in letting them know how things should be done. In that case, I think he's more like The Kid. I can imagine him being more like The Kid in real life. But when he's with girlfriends, I think he's definitely more like Christopher Tracy. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. Handsome, talented, nice smile, intriguing eyes, spiritual, smart, witty and sexy. I'd say a mix of em both plus more! [Edited 12/7/07 20:24pm]

You hit the nail on the head. He is a bit of both. “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a Communist.” Brazilian bishop Dom Hélder Câmara

I always kind of hoped that Prince was more like C. Tracy. He was loose and funny and I giggled all through UTCM.
I liked the Kid, but him slapping the taste out of Apollonia's mouth kind of scared me. LOL. A little too serious for me. (I used to think Prince didn't smile.) C. Tracy was funnier. I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

Yeah, me too, it did not seem real. Like a stupid made up story. I wonder if he did smack any of his girl friends? He just does not seem like that type of person. Another thing I noticed about Prince in real life he tends to blend into the person he is around like a chameleon. I noticed it with Vanity, Wendy & Mayte. [Edited 12/9/07 19:41pm]
