Full circle. The cycle is complete. Thanx P. Its an odd thing really. I think my obsession with Prince is finally over. Not a bad thing really. Dont get me wrong, this isnt written out of anger or frustration from a wrong doing or anything like it. I just feel that the time has come to let it go.
I went to a couple of the London concerts and they were amazing. Quite brilliant. But a few days later I felt that something inside of me had been satisfied and that I no longer needed to be so prolific about my support for Prince. No more whining about club fuck-ups, no more obsessive defenses to the unconverted, no more unsatiable desires for more new music and more and more and more. If its in the stores I will buy it, listen to it and judge it the way I always have done with any artist I buy. If he is in town I will definately go and see him perform. But the unquenchable desire to know everything and more about the man, his music, his whereabouts and his religion has finally left me. No more org and its odd-ball topics, crazy debates and occasional obsessive fruit cakes. As much fun as it has been at times. Indeed. Prince has given me many many years of enjoyment mixed with a pinch of frustration and unpredictability and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I just dont feel the need for it any more. I dont feel the need to be apart of the club anymore, i dont feel the need to be a part of the hardcore anymore. I think that its time to just accept that Prince is good and I like his music and leave it at that. Afterall, hes just a musician amongst a multitude of talented musicians, why concentrate on him so much when there is so much new and raw talent still in its prime out there that needs discovering amongst this mess that is known as the music industry today. Prince is past his prime and I dont fault him for that. He is certainly a cut above the norm. But he aint alone, theres so much more that needs discovering and supporting the way he is supported. So farewell fellow orgers. Enjoy the ride from here on in. I know you will enjoy it as well as continue to be frustrated by it. But thats Prince, and always will be. Ciao ciao, Jon...

Is this another one of those "I'm leaving Prince, goodbye" posts that nobody cares about?
Maybe, very possibly. But some good points nonetheless. Prince is rather addictive but the rest of music in the world put together still is more than a worthy rival methinks!

Peace to you Jon. And I wish you well on your journey through life. The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly. ~ Richard Bach "Illusions"
