I have listened to nothing but Prince since....

....11th August - is this some kind of record or am I just a newbie?? I listen to a minimum of 2 albums a day, sometimes 4! I have thought about playing other stuff but I just can't do it!

I know exactly what you mean. I've been a fan since I was old enough to know what music was. Seen him in concert 3 times. 3rd time was the o2 in September and since then I am totally hooked. I dont feel happy unless I get to listen to something of his during the day. Prefer to watch his dvds now. Listening isn't quite enough sometimes. I need to see him too! Other music is ok but it doesn't do it for me the way his does. Good example is that I went to see UB40 in concert lastnight. Also for the 3rd time. I enjoyed it because it was a good show but I couldn't help making comparisons and I felt as though I was cheating on him!! Must listen to even more now to make up for it!! I think I need some help!!!!!
I know I hold you too tight, but I just can't seem to get close enough

I used to listen to predominatly Prince, but he has introduced me to a large range of music. I've a good selection of 70's and 80's Funk, also James brown and miles davis. I hadn't heard much of the Foo Fighters before the Superbowl, but I listen to them a lot now.

Exactly. If you feel like listening to nothing but Prince, then go right ahead. It's not like it's bad, ya know? wink But with that said, a little time away is not a bad thing either. It makes you appreciate it that much more when you play his music again.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

There are other good artist's around. Try and introduce them slowly, add some Britney Spears, Donny Osman etc... to your collection.

I know it's hard, good luck!

I was never THIS into music b4 Prince.
Sure, I love music all the same, but I didn't listen to it every day the way I do now.

And yes, I pretty much listen to him every day. Otherwise, if I stop for even a day or two, I hear his voice again and I'm confuse ...so I have to decompress for a day or two, familiarize myself with him again. Could be withdrawal symptoms... or short-term memory loss.

Doesn't mean I've given up other artists completely, though. On car rides, if I'm in the mood for something else, I pop that into my CD player. And when its a family car ride, there's something else in there usually.

But I guess since... let's see... this summer (b4 Planet Earth)... I've listened to him pretty much every day. cool And I don't mind.

I acutally didn't read the title correctly, I didn't notice the ONLY part. I have listened everyday but not exclusively Prince... in my car I play his CD's (at least once a day). Still... razz

I went to see Prince in Las Vegas back in March of this year, and I've listened to something from him every day since! That show totally re-ignited the obsession for me, and i ain't no teenager smile Good thing he's made so much, otherwise it could get tiresome. I have listened to other music though, not just Prince... but as far as listening every day over an extended period, i think i've got you beat! razz

Yaeyus! Praise the Lord! Pass the koolaid around childrun and let's all take a sip. Come with me to a special place I've chosen for us to live childrun. Give up all yore worldly possessions and come with me. We'll build our own little cummunatie. We'll be separate from this evil wicked world. We'll call it Princetown! Give me an Amen childun! Yaeyus! Praise the Lord!

That's your loss. You go on just listening to Prince. Me, I'll continue to enjoy a nice assortment of Radiohead, Nirvana, Stevie Wonder, Matthew Good, Smashing Pumpkins, Queen, Pink Floyd, Annie Lennox, etc.

what did ub40 play?

All the classics and some new ones. They said they have a new album coming out in Jan or Feb. Red red wine, cherrio baby, many rivers to cross, kingston town, to name a few. Still didn't play King though, which is one of my faves.
I know I hold you too tight, but I just can't seem to get close enough
