What if he never actually composed something that is hardcore funk ? To me the ultimate definition of "hardcore funk" is "Hot Pants" by James Brown. If Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone and George Clinton are Prince's major black influences, then it's fair to say that he's never composed anything as raw as "Get On The Good Foot". Because those influences are already a blend of soul, funk and white pop music. All his recent best tries in the genre are homages paid to the old school (Musicology and such), but they don't really count, do they ? Prince's style resides in the perfect balance between black music and white music. When he tries to sound 100% percent black, he does not sound like him. It's well crafted, it makes you wanna shake your ass, but it's not hardcore as James of the Motown roots. The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

Most of these Prince: Music & More peeps don't know jack shit about funk  It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
