Not necessarily. Prince could have had sexual partners who were in the closet also. If they came forward with their stories, they would be outing themselves also and a closeted person wouldn't want to do that.

Also, as flaming as Prince is, I picture him going after the extremely masculine men that you would never think was gay or bisexual and 90% of them are in the closet.

I know this topic has been duscussed over and over again, but I need to get this off of my chest. I am so darn SICK of these two comments far too many have to utter!!!! Almost every time I mention Prince to someone in their teens and twenties te first thing I hear is "Prince, isn't he like gay?". What the HECK has that to do with his music and so what if he were??? Then as the conversation continues and race comes up in the discussion it's: "what, Prince is black?? No, he can't be."

People must be blind and deaf.

Why is it so hard for people to go beyond his appearance and falsetto? And how can we still live in a time where only hard core music fans seem to know anything about Prince?

I try to ignore it, but it makes me sad to see how ignorant people are.


I agree. I am 26 but I have the maturity level to not give a damn about someone's sexuality. In my opinion Prince is not gay. Definitely not. Anyway though I just enjoy his music. He has created many beautiful bodies of work. I do have a bit of a crush on him too.

Just say to those people....yes Prince probably is gay.

I now what you mean. It really dissapoints me that so many people seem to say that about him. Over the years I have learned to make Prince my "private joy". Because it's kind of lonely being a Prince fan in America. His "image" has never really gone over well in an overly macho and masculine oriented American society. American audiences have always seemed to be confused by his image. I remember I got teased and bullied on a daily basis in elementry school for admitting that Prince is my favorite singer. Even my older brother and sister make fun of me for it till this day but mostly in a teasing way not in a cruel way. Everytime the holidays come up and they visit,they ask me what bands or singers I'm currently listening to and I say I still love Prince, that always makes things quiet at the dinner table. My parents always have supported me for loving Prince though. They always tell me "Pat there's nothing wrong with you at all, just keep being the happy positive guy you are and if Prince makes you happy then you go ahead and listen to him!" I hate that it's like so many people in America make you feel like you should be ashamed of being a Prince fan like there's something wrong with that...Well guess what? I'm not anymore I am PROUD to love and support the music of Prince!
