Time Waits 4 no one

Hey there!

Anyone remember this little Gem!!

Well i thought it was cool, the layered Prince voice as backing and the video where he's leaning up against the lamppost with the Telecaster!! in a trenchcoat with his long hair!!

Not much of a guitar solo but is he Cool in that video or wot!!

It was Mavis Staples but the whole album had Prince written all over it!

Lovely song - Sheila on backing vocals makes it for me. P wrote all but two songs on the album - I've got it on vinyl in a cupboard somewhere.

Both Mavis albums were excellent , you could see the love and care Prince put into these projects.
If the collaboration between Prince and Amy goes ahead I would love to hear her take on those songs.

I honestly think this is Prince's best guitar solo in the studio. It's understated, and thats its strength. This is one of my all time favourite songs.

Great song!

Some reviewer called it 'a cathedral of a song', with the beat 'being' the strong pilars holding it. Nice metaphor.

Good remark! Sometimes his understated, sober guitarsolo's can be his very best. The Question of U especially comes to mind.
