PURPLE RAIN DESERVES 2 B AN EXPANDED EDITION!!!! AFTER REALIZING THAT I HAVE THE WHOLE 1ST SIDE OF THE PURPLE RAIN LP AS "EXTENDED VERSIONS", I KINDA CAME 2 THE CONCLUSION THAT YES!!!!! PURPLE RAIN DESERVES 2 B AN "EXPANDED EDITION"!!!!!
JUST LIKE "THRILLER" AND ALL THE MARVIN GAYE CLASSICS, "PURPLE RAIN" DESERVES THE SAME TREATMENT. BUT WE'LL PROBABLY NEVER SEE THAT SINCE WB AND P ARE STILL BEEFIN' OVER MASTERS. OR WILL WE????? And this is just the Prince material. Did not even include the other artists. Or the movie score. Or the 83 live performance where he premiered so much stuff. Now all of that in a box... I would pay money for THAT. |

And did not even include outtakes. both versions of The Dance Electric, Possessed, For Love, All Day, All Night, at least two extra versions of Computer Blue, Father's Song, Wednesday, Electric Intercourse, Our Destiny, Roadhouse Garden... An Expanded Purple Rain would be good.
It would be great to have a remastered album, all the extended versions and B-sides. Maybe some unreleased music. The other artists songs too. A Prince commentary would have been great too. I also wish there were expanded versions of all his albums. Maybe the way businesses go some day Prince will buy Warner Bros. and then all the music can be released the way Prince wants it. And all are speculation will end because we will have heard all the music. | |

He will only do it if he owns all the tapes and doesn't have any imput from WB. On the other hand maybe he will do something for his fans for a change? He'll be dead before WB don't own the masters. Doesn't he get them after 35 years of each release? I don't get why he can't work with WB to re-release them now and in the future they could be re-released again anyway on dvd audio or sacd. Do Prince even know there is a demand for remasters? There is no way of letting him know we want them. | |
