i've seen a bunch of people shitting on this song. it's not one of my favs but i really don't think it's all that bad. it's not even the worst song on that album.which i think is "annie christian". and even that is pretty decent. controversy is one of his coolest albums. just don't understand the hate.

Controversy album is golden from beginning to end!

Some Prince songs just have a dated appeal to them. In my opinion there are songs from "For You" that have a more timeless feeling than later released recordings.

Probably because of the naivety of the lyrics. He improved with his later political/social message songs but this was a poor start.

It's so short that it doesn't really make much of an impact, I guess.
I'm okay with it. I don't hate it. And considering the album is called "Controversy" it fits.

Is it just me... or does "Ronnie talk to Russia" have a melody similar to "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf?

It just sounds so familiar... that song was on the mix my dad made that had the first 2 Prince songs I've heard in my life. And this Prince song just has the same feel.
