Prince Songs You Disliked Before But Like Now...

For me it would be "Scandalous" and "International Lover". I never used to like either of those songs but i've been listening to them a lot these days for some reason and now I absolutely love both, I especially love Scandalous. That is the jam music.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

I had to get used to God, Solo and Temptation. Sometimes he goes OOOOWOWOWOWW too much, but then I found myself I love it when he does that. Except on the second version of The Dance, that is just total whack.

I listen to "eye Can't Make U Love Me" now...I used to skip it because when Prince sings it the "heartache" seemed to be replaced with "seduction" and it sounded "off", imo. I prefer Bonnie Raitt's version, but I do enjoy Prince's version every once in a while...now.

When I heard it the first couple times, I just couldn't STAND Purple Rain. After the explosion that is Let's Go Crazy, and the end-solo that made me take notice, to release Purple Rain just seemed to be an easy out. Plus I didn't like slow songs when I was a kid. But then one day, I was going in and out of sleep, and had a little transistor radio next to me, when the song came on, only this time, it played all the way through, with the coda. That coda changed my life! It brought the worlds rock and strings together (even if only a quartet), and opened up a whole new world to me.

For some reason that no philosopher could hope to explain, I enjoy The Arms of Orion now. There's something in the combined feeling in the vocals of longing and hopefulness that gets me.

I used to find Mellow and Lion Of Judah really tedious, but now I appreciate them.

I didn't use to like Little Red Corvette. It sounded, uh, I guess too "white" for me. And plus the lyrics drove me nuts. It reminded me of "candy shop" by 50 cent...(the metaphor thing)
This was a while ago, b4 i was a big fan.
So, yeah, I ended up reading up on it and learned to appreciate it. I cant get enough of it, it seems like genius to me now. I can't believe I ever hated it.

I blame the video for this...
or maybe cuz I heard "Little Red Corvette" b4 it hmmm

Whatever the case may be, I didn't like "When Doves Cry" at all. disbelief
The beginning of the video just made me want to say, "Prince! Put some clothes on, I hardly know you!" falloff
When I watch the video now, I still turn away cuz I'm blushing too much to see straight falloff

But its very artistic and my God... its what Prince is all about.

Gett Off was another song I didnt dig at first cuz of the video... I was uncomfortable with the sexual themes he did in his work, but like many things, it grew on me. I dig this beat and its so much fun.
eye Wanna melt with U, again, threw me for a loop cuz of what he was talking about... but music wins over substance.

Satisfied... just bored me to death... now I've been developing a taste 4 it.

I've come a long way in many ways as a supporter of Prince. cool
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

falloff falloff When I first saw that video, it was on the net and, i swear to God, I closed the browser as he started to stand up. It freaked me out! I just had no idea what was about to happen in that vid.
And that was before I developed my little crush on him, so i wasn't really into all that. *Ahem*
Its pretty cool to me now, plus thats my favorite song by him and 2nd favorite song by anyone.

lol. i don't know. i just didn't like it at the time when i first got the
black album on a tape back in 1992.

it wasn't until the album was officially released in 1994 and i was in a
supermarket and they played it.

i was just buying vegetables and the tune came up and i started 2 humm
along to it and before i knew it, there i was with a huge courgette in my
hand, loudly stating "i just hate to see an erection go 2 waste" whilst a
bewildered lady looked at me

redface falloff

went home, listened to the song again. and again. and again. and again.

in fact, i'm listening to it now oral
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I remembered that I didn't care much for Little Red Corvette when I was a real young but when I got The Hits/B Sides and played the song, it was like a revelation. Now I love the song to death. Another one was Anna Stesia. It bored me when I got it but when I got the CD 11 years later and I was older to understand what Prince was talking about, it really touched me and now I dig that song too.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

The Morning Papers - I was completely bored with this and just recently I can't remember why! Actually the same for a few other songs on the Symbol album

SOTT - the album except for the title track, It, U Got the Look, and If I Was Ur Girlfriend disturbed me. Now I listen to it straight through all the time.

Sing 'O' the Times used to make my ears ache when it first came out, then years later, I grew to love the song. Never liked take me with you, still don't. Never liked Bambi until I heard it live, same goes for Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad.
God Created Woman grew on me as well.
