GET IT UP IS THE LONGEST GUITAR SOLO BY PRINCE UNTIL 2002 JOY IN REPETITION GET IT UP BY THE TIME CONTAINS ONE OF THE BEST EVER GUITAR SOLO RECORDED BY PRINCE
ALSO IT'S THE MOST EXTENDED SOLO BEFORE 2002 AFTERSHOW VERSION OF JOY IN REPETITION. THIS IS BIT OF A TRIVIA. SO HOW MUCH YOU THINK HIS GUITAR STYLE CHANGED FROM GET IT UP UNTIL 2002 JOY IN REPETITION

I didn't know 777-9311 was prince. It sounds NOTHING like his guitar style. Actually idk, maybe I'll give it another spin...meaning go into windows media and double click it, give it a spin, i sound old ![]()

No, it isn't. (By the way, shouting from the rooftops that the earth is flat, doesn't make the earth flat). ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

well, just off the top of my head, wasn't one of the tracks from THE SCANDALOUS SEX SUITE well longer than Get It UP? And that was before 2002.

The guitar solo on 'The Raprture' (part 3 of 'The Scandalous Sex Suite') was indeed longer than 'Get It Up' (although I'm unclear whether most of it was an authentic solo on that particular track). Much of the solo was first heard at a faster tempo on 'Dear Michaelangelo' (Sheila E track). So it's not clear at which tempo Prince originally recorded it. Prince has also officially-released at least one other longer guitar solo than 'Get It Up' before the release of the edited version of 'Joy In Repetition' on 'It Ain't Over!'. It depends what we define as "solo" and officially released. ie....the live solo on Purple Rain (from the Prince and the Revolution live!) must clock in beyond any studio track..... .

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

That particular performance might be considered to have three solos: the noodling at the beginning, and then the two solos at the end. Both final solos clock in at slightly over the performance on 'Get It Up'. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
