People in the industry have ccess to new albums months before they are released so it's possible.

I guess every conversation posted can end with a jab at Prince. It all falls on Prince all of a sudden.. Maybe, he brought-out more of the "ungly" that was always trapped inside of certain idividuals..

Quincy Jone's Albums were released on WB, so he probably heard "1999" well before "Thriller" was completed (especially if the title-track was the last song recorded).

He just produced MJ for CBS records then.

Before "The Internet Age", California and NYC would receive Albums, Singles, and Promotional copies months earlier than the rest of the nation.
