Emancipation hands down for the sheer volume, diversity, and quality.

Emancipation.

Emancipation grows on you. Not a perfect album, but how does one pull off a perfect album with 36 songs in it?

In comparison, Planet earth had fun, quirky, harmless tunes that grew old pretty fast.

Gohi

Even with only 10 songs, Planet Earth has more above average songs than Emancipation.

I was impressed by Emancipation when I first bought it, so many songs. It was like Prince overload.

Planet Earth has taken a while to get into, the more I listen the better it gets.

If I had a choice to take one on a desert island, I'd go for Emancipation. I don't seem to get bored of it.

Emancipation, hands down! Because with Emancipation Prince talked about his Freedom and what he could do with it.

With Planet Earth, he shows just what he ended up doing with that Freedom and it saddens and disappoints me to no end! shrug

Emancipation...

loved the ballads... you can't beat the ballads. there were so many on Emancipation... only 1 that I like on PE.. FBM.

Also the funk joints were good on Emancipation.

Emale, Joint 2 Joint, Sex in the Summer, are just the ones I can think of from the top of my head.

I can't get into Emancipation, though I like a few cuts off of it. Planet Earth has a handful of cuts that hit the spot for me. I like "Future Baby Mama," "Chelsea Rodgers," and "Somewhere Here On Earth." "Guitar" is average and the rest of the album I could care less for. I'm not a big fan of the symbol era. I like the Love Symbol Album, for the most part, but everything after is mostly garbage to me. I like few cuts off of The Gold Experience, 1 or 2 off of Come, 1 or 2 off Chaos & Disorder, Emancipation has a handful I like, and Rave I just like "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold." It was on Musicology, but mostly 3121, that I got back into Prince's more recent output. Rainbow Children does nothing for me. But '82-'88 are UNFUCKWITABLE!

WHILE SOME OF THE STUFF FROM EMANCIPATION IS PRINCE 'S CLOSEST SOUL MUSIC EFFORT,THE FACT THAT PRODUCTION OF THE ALBUMS IS AWFUL PLANET EARTH WINS ITS BETTER COLLECTION OF SONGS AND MORE MATURE.
ALL THE MIDNIGHTS CAN BE ON PARADE ALBUM.

Emancipation. Because It's an better overall album with more songs that I enjoy, and that I can listen without getting sick, like with songs from Plant Earth.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Emancipation. Better songs, better overall feel. PE to me has no direction. Its all over the place and not in a good way. Not enough good lyrics or music to carry it. It feels pointless.

Emancipation by a mile. First because the love songs written for Mayte are some of the most beautiful he's ever written. I also appreciate the production because it represents a different type of sound from him and I like that. Then there's Face Down...I just love thee hell outta that song! cool

I hope Prince falls crazy, head over heels, stupid in love again real soon... nod
