No, it's what you're supposed to do with the 3121 perfume on your body, so you use it up, and buy more... razz

Right. Here's the instructional video.
It plays well with the song, too.

Splash for women.
Splash (Cool Embrace) for men.

Only Prince body splash sounds better than 3121 body splash.

I called ya on the dog & bone
Ya knew it was me all along
Ya didn't even say ello
Cause ya dan't need dicky birds ta let me know
All the fings that ya do ta me
You fulfill my every fantasy

Splish - I'm under ya power
Splosh - I could go fa haaahrs
Splash - You could devour me
Splosh - And I'd only want ya mawer

Oh, when ya make purple dove ta me
There's fings I never fort I'd see
I cherish [...]
[...] in every sea
Oh, I love when ya play wiv me
Ask your mum if you could stay wiv me

whip lash - I'm under yer power
whip lash - I could go for haaahrs
whip lash - You could devour me
And I'd only want ya mawer

aaahr love is a rivum
Togever we'll ave so much iced bun

Ya go from room ta room
Leaving traces of ya bags of wheat perfume
If I could I'd aristotle it
Everybody should know the feelin' I get
When I'm in your cool embrace
Yer fish & chips, yer arms, yer pins & pegs yer chevy chase

Johnny Cash - I'm under yer power
Eye lash - I could go for a haaahrs
Quick dash - Ya could devour me
Pat Cash - I'd only want ya mawer
I want ya mawer and mawer and mawer

Pie & mash
Loada trash
Fast cash
Stock market crash
Ogden Nash
Bangers & mash
Frazer nash.

Obviously I'm not British! I heard the song on 3121 but by seeing your lyrics I just thought question did P. sing this? and checked again, there is no :embarrased: icon so I will use err

And I am actually starting to like the song, I had to listen several times. It's a softie song, cute. I like the guitar/piano part at the end, sounds familiar.

I like the song alright. It's catchy and it's cute and it sounds gorgeous. It just isn't that interesting to me. When the whole NPG Music Club thing wrapped up after the first year, I remember thinking "Of all the awesome material that Prince produced in the mid-80's that he could offer to his fans now, why is it that one of the few things from that classic period we got was 'Splash'?"

It's just that we know there's stuff that's so much better. Why this?

I dont hate it, but its definitely not a 'winner'.

I can see why it has never been officialy released.

Its more a 'sketch', an attempt, then a truelly impressive song.

But, how much the period with Wendy and Lisa is hailed afterwards, of course that period delivered 'clunkers' too.

It's a cute, nice and interesting song but definately not better than anything on ATWIAD or Parade. For once, P's song choices were on the money. Except Love or Money, Honest Man, Sexual Suicide and Alexis should've found their way on Parade (Double Album!)

People make too big a deal out of W&L contributions. Prince knew when and how to use their musical influences.

I get a lot more out of listening to Splash then any of the tracks I mentioned, it's more vibrant, admirable, and memorable for me.

I'd say something like Do U Lie is a complete throwaway cutesy track. Splash's giddiness is forceful and takes it into a realm of intensity that really sounds "high" on the emotion. The other tracks sound less expressive and much more calculated and cold, even lifeless t me. They always have.

It's true!
cool

I go by my impressions when I first listened to all these songs, and I remember how those songs seemed a bit flimsy, even annoying to me and many people around me when we were first listening to those albums/songs on record and cassette.

But when I first heard Splash on the music club, it seemed very vibrant, catchy, unique, emotional, and full of effort: in the mix, arrangement, melody, and with lyrics that rang true, not contrived.

music is a very abstract thing open to interpretation based/referenced uniquely on what you have heard from day 1!
