So do you think you'll still be a fan(m) in 25 years??

A lot of us have been listening to Prince 20 years+. I'll be 57 in 25 years. Prince will be 69. Will I be still listening? For now I'll say yes. What about you? Can you imagine Prince releasing albums until then? Any thoughts on what they may sound like? I just hope he dosen't become like Wayne Newton, a Vegas act. Can you imagine Prince a lounge singer. "Thank U, U R beautiful. 4 my next song I'd like 2 play "4 the false teeth that keep fallin out" smile

i'll be 57 then too.I just hope i'm alive and haven't started peeing myself by then!

I'll always love Prince.I reckon he might head down the blues road in the future.I can't imagine him going down the George Clinton route and becoming a characiture (spelling?) of himself, he's too good to do that.

What do You think? Damn,he'll be 69 and still be doing the 69 . A lounge act? Even so it will be the Sexiest one around. Maybe he'll be like Christopher Tracy and just play Piano. Yeah,I think that will be what he'll do if he's still performing.

I'm pretty sure he's not going to go the Rolling Stones route, and still think he's a 20 year old sex icon swimming in Controversy.

Rather, I think he'll move to a more sophisticated blues and jazz performer, doing venues that are in a sense similar to the ONA tour he just did. Like B.B. or Cohen though, he's still gonna be releasing music to his committed fans.

I'm a fan for life. The music he already created will last for a few lifetimes, and so I'm there till I die.

I've been a prince fan for 10 years this year and it all started for me when hearing "little red corvette" after that it just snowballed. Since then I have slowly but steadily been collecting every album he has published and whatever bootlegs I could get my hands on (dont care what he says about that!). There can go months where I don't pick up a prince cd, actually I kinda forget about his music but then suddenly I get the urge for this one song and again it snowballs for a week to a month where I listen to all his stuff over and over again.

It's been like this for many years now and I just don't see it stopping. I'm 25 (and male!) and when I'm 50 will I still listen to his songs? I don't think there can be any doubt about that.

In 25 years, I'll be 48 years old. There's a very good chance that I'll still be a fan. To what level, I'm not sure but I'll be like Band-Aid with Prince. We'll be stuck together for a very long time.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I might not know, ya know?

biggrin

I imagine, Prince... alone on a tiny stage... walks in with his tiny boom box, cd case, and on the stage is a chair and microphone.

He slowly (but still sexy-like) glides across the stage in whatever he is into then... I dunno, Depends with suspenders? biggrin

neutral

Ya know it's gonna be so... maybe. biggrin But to answer your question? Probably not...I will still listen to his music - but I am looking forward to being a grandparent in 25 years, and will be (hopefully) able to spend a great deal of time being a fan of them.

For as long as I can remember the sound that he produces is more than music to my ears, his music has gotten me through some rough times in my life and whenever I needed comfort the music always uplifted my spirit, although it drove my parents crazy because it was always so loud and they'd always ask what did he say!!! I've listened since I was about 12,and I'll be listening for the rest of my life.
I'm just a junky for the sound.
