Prince in 1977. WOW.

His drumming and keyboard parts in those early instrumental demos was off the HOOK!

He had his jazz-fusion chops DOWN.

Period.

Not 2 mention the Bass and Guitar parts...

Yes. He actually ended up cutting back his chops, in the name of minimalism, originality, and also 4 the sound that he wanted, 4 the rest of his recorded output, with few exceptions.

What little I have heard from that period is impressive, indeed.
