Prince in 1977. WOW. His drumming and keyboard parts in those early instrumental demos was off the HOOK!

Yes. He actually ended up cutting back his chops, in the name of minimalism, originality, and also 4 the sound that he wanted, 4 the rest of his recorded output, with few exceptions. "He's a musician's musician..." |
