Guess what I heard in the Courthouse today? After having my client take a plea on his case, we went to the court coordinator in the back to process the paperwork. As we entered the office, "Purple Rain" was playing. Now I asked her what station that was, she said that was her CD playing.
I didn't get into a discussion of our purple friend but it sure warmed my heart to see another purple fan in the house.

Thank you for sharing. Along the line, I'd like to share an interesting story too.
In class, a couple weeks ago, I met Julie Landsman who wrote a book related to the minneapolis public school. She told us she happened to have worked with Mattie Baker (Prince's mother) in the 80's. She said she really enjoyed working with her. "Mattie knew how to help needy kids. She'd take them to a second hand store or church to get some clothes, she'd look at every possibility to help kids live a better life and make it to school. She was a very strong woman." She even appeared at the premiere of Purple Rain and came back with her hair dyed all in purple regardless of what co-workers would say. I guess Prince got his strengh from mom along with ignoring what negative comments people may say.

Though they would never admit it, alot of my cellmates are not only Prince fans,
they're also orgers of the lurking variety. "Yoyo! Big ups to all of my peeps over in cellblock 6. Hollaa....!"

Always a good idea to refrain from prince-geek talk when your client has just taken a plea. "Seriously, you'd be surprised how quickly 20 years goes by. Why it seems like just yesterday when Sign o' the Times came out, wasn't that a great album!" "What kind of fuck ending is that?"

Well, nothing to compare with jails in the middle east I guess. Jails in the western world seem like a luxury to others. I'm glad you're here though

u had a smile i would have had a frown and because of that damn song man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
